NEVER wave a dog around in the air
NAVER force a dog to do something against their will
& NEVER EVER allow someone to force a dog to do something against their will

if it was a girl wrapped in a sleeping bag with no shirt on... maybe? that wasn't really "me," anyway
yeah while you guys respectfully bought avey beers and thanked him and talked about life, I ran up to him screaming "WE'RE NOT ROBOTS!" and cried on his shoes while he kept glancing at my bf in a "please help her" kind of way. really nice guy. always willing to listen to you.
technically, everything we tell dogs to do is against their will. or is it just the power of suggestion and obedience?

hehehe, ya you ran up to my friend in a sleeping bag and bra and started doing the robot telling him, "I AM A ROBOT! DOES NOT COMPUTE!" He was slightly weirded out but he did get a kick out of it. Personally I would love to hear more details about your interactions with Avey and the band in your altered state!

there was a part of me that knew this was very, very wrong. however, I was thoroughly convinced we were all SUPPOSED to add to the art somehow, since everyone I saw seemed bored (probably just stoned)! I was very antisocial and rude. once again I apologize for making people uncomfortable.
I can't remember too much honestly. just that after the show I FINALLY knew what to say to him, and dragged my ultra-shocked boyfriend over to the stage and waited until Avey came out. while he was putting his equipment away I yelled the robot thing from below. he laughed and got closer to listen to me... but I just incoherently rattled away a bunch of musical conspiracy theories and wept deeply onto his shoe after mentioning peacebone, lol.
a lot of this is very personal so I won't dive deeper, but he never walked away and he very nicely told me to check out the bands upstairs. before they left the campgrounds they hung around outside the tavern saying goodbye to fans lining up all saying a different variation of the same thing. my bf and I were sitting nearby quietly, being judgmental dicks and talking about how capitalism is the root of all evil.
Avey is a good dude. I felt terrible for the whole night and day after that but then got better fast! seeing everyone on instagram and facebook and reddit and here later restored my faith in humanity.

damn katracat sounds like you had one hell of a time. mad jealous.
my last drug experience with animal collective was 3 tabs and 800mg of DXM and a surround sound system going MPP > CHz > HCTI > Hollinndagain > STGSTV and then I watched ODDSAC and it still sounds like you were having a more wild time than I was having

Yeah i've got the full show both nights, and my own zoom audio track recording too. I'm in the process of uploading them all to a neutral space so I can have friends I met from the camping weekend see if we can fix up the audio a little better. I will say that my camcorder (nikon) audio captured vocals and high end frequencies both more clearly than the zoom recorders; but the low end is definitely more accurately reflected by the handheld field recordings we've got so far, even my own. i'm hoping we can use a mix of the three (or four?) audio tracks we have for the evenings and get something that works out the best.
i've posted the
two videos from the show that I have because I wanted people to have something to get at and enjoy before the longer project of making a video for the entirety of the camping weekend is finished.
as someone who's had the soundtrack of AC live shows playing for hours during many sundays around the house spent working, chores, lounging, i'm considering this: it's the pre-show DJ'ing songs playing for a little while along with crowd noises to set the mood, and open up in to day 1, then closure, an intermission with crowd chatter (and a bunch of beautiful photos many of us have shared from Fernwood and the trips we took take the place of the darkened stage) which then would proceed in to day 2. e.g. a ~4 hour video/set!
...Or it'll just be two vanilla, touched-up videos, one for each day.
I am just here to *sheepishly* ask if there has been any progress made or an estimated timeframe on this amazing/ambitious project? I can't wait to re-live that weekend!

it's finally happening, my apologies for the delay! nothing to it other than finally wrappin my ears and arms around the full extent of the project and sitting down to do it inbetween my unusually busy life lately.
there'll be a more detailed explanation when it's actually uploaded, but the gist is it includes the dj tracks before the show (day 2, all we had captured iirc), a few tracks from eric copeland's set, a lot of photos that everyone posted (did my best to respect privacy but also be inclusive of the community's media shared), and the video and audio for both days. two audio tracks are used, and the video had to be stitched together due to the maximum duration limit of 20:00 minutes as a hard cap, forcing me to stop and begin recording. synchronizing the audio tracks proved to be the most painstaking process, I didn't have any software assistance for it, if such a thing exists, so I dragged items on a timeline in the vegas video project. The audio-only tracks we have also had some strange gaps in sound data that occurred when being used in vegas, unsure if they're ever audible when being played through audio players, but this is what it looked like:
when I noticed it was the reason certain tracks weren't synchronized even though the audio streams aren't misplaced, I zoomed in to see there was just a blip of silence. Wasn't on all of the splits, but enough of them that I went in for a lot of close listening, zooming, repairing, and re-playing of the blends.
It looks like it's 4:33 in total now
and a render is down to ~9hrs
Have to really thank everyone who was there, everyone who contributed any kind of media to help document, relive, and share the experience for everyone who couldn't be there. Thanks to collected animals for existing as a persistent presence to help connect fans of this amazing collective of musicians. Not gonna sploosh it all here when the video's not even up yet, but didn't want to sell short just how much of a community creation this ultimately is. Thank You
If anyone wants anything removed from the video once I post it here (probably tomorrow evening), I'll do my best to take it out and reupload it before I leave for vacation on sunday (for the next 3 weeks). Even better, if you hear/see/find an obvious mistake that I didn't notice (a large amount of errors were introduced by my newness to the editor for this purpose and how my attempts to fix something in one location would accidentally alter things far before and after that specific event on the timeline, and due to project scope at multiple hours, it introduced even more errors due scaling omission), if you can tell me exactly where it is I will try and correct it and re-upload the video (within a few weeks, then it'll just sit as-is)
finally, the raw vid/audio will be made available to anyone who wants it on a google drive of mine, if you want to use it for any of your own purposes. A fellow CA'er here is also working to remaster the audio streams now that we have more of them available, so an audio-only two day Camping Weekend boot in higher quality will be a possibility!
edit: accurate credit will be included in the youtube description for all photographers and media capture owners; the video itself contains no publishing notes other than the description of the event as being presented by (((folkYEAH))) at fernwood
thank you animal collective
edit: uploading the 30 gig file to youtube now
edit2: lol fucked stuff up yet again in final tweaks and now i get to render it yet again to reupload tomorrow morning. i'm making myself crazy
