with panda talking about staying with these songs a bit too long and deakin talking about not knowing what the next era would bring, what are you guys hoping for for the next era of AC? i'd love to see them go fully acoustic and make something really natural and organic sounding, like campfire-hcti-sung tongs-feels era. not in a 'going backwards' sense but just in terms of their set up. the music box shows make me want to hear more piano in their music, rather than synths. i feel like a natural sound compliments their song writing really well and is a natural progression from where they went with this era

also it's just crazy to think about this as a five-six year era. what's the longest AC era before that? maybe MPP or CHz at like 3 years? music box shows early 2018, next album early 2023, if they tour throughout 2023 then that's a nearly 6 year era, at minimum i bet we are looking at 5 years if they only tour in early 2023. time skiffs 2 could conceivably come out fri march 17 2023, 5 years to the day from the music box shows

If they tour in early 2023 to support TS2, I'm really hoping they will have moved on to a new setup and new material by then. It would hearken back to the old days of playing MPP songs in support of SJ. Not really sure what I would want their next era to sound like, but I definitely share your sentiments about a more simplistic and organic setup.

Whatever they do next, I just want them to go MENTALLLLLLL!

Does anyone remember how long it was between rumors/confirmation of PW or TS being finished recording to hearing the record? I feel like we have a shot of this release coinciding with the end of the tour

edit: also, Broke Zodiac is killer, a studio version is going to be their best in a while, especially if they keep the stutters in. so glad they're focusing on the low-end this cycle, we need more AC that bumps

They said it still needs to be mixed. But PW was finished by like July and released in Feb, TS was finished June 10 and released Feb too

We could hear this by December/January, or probably sooner if they finish mixing in the next couple of months, which isn't out of the question because they might not want another Winter release like TS

Deakin said "next year" so that's probably the earliest it would come out

That's probably what will happen, but I'd much rather an 18 month break at most before AC reconvenes, given how much solo material (on panda's side at least) is already in the pipeline

For a band that seems to like to move forward (new eras, playing new stuff at live shows) , it's a bummer (for them probably) that they've been sitting on this material for so long and it's still not all out.

i'm psyched for solo season but definitely excited to see what AC is gonna do next, they've been with these songs for so long

Honestly hoping we get the Panda/Sonic Boom album and TS2 this year then they start working on another AC album, I think their last solo projects have been 10/10 but the live shows for the full band have been magical so far, hoping they keep up that energy

My guess is PB/SB for summer, Skiffs for Nov/Dec/Jan, then Deakin/Avey next year to segue into the next AC era starting end of 23 into 24 when the next album comes out. Toss a Panda album in there somewhere, man is that kind of crazy.

I think a PB album on top of the SB collab album in the next year might be a bit much to hope for but yeah the next year or two is gonna be stacked just off what we know
