So far, we understand that AnCo came into the studio feeling like this...?

Clearly AnCo are hacks who just rip off Kenny Loggins.

Pfffft. Good Riddance.

Ok. That's it, almost everybody on this thread just has to be a complete asshole every time I post anything. Be it light humour, or intellectual discussion... you all just can't resist being complete prick. How did this one manage to go completely over your head? Your precious band has a theme that was executed before in an awesome music video from 1985, and the humor in that somehow escapes you.

fucking :nateweep:

this will tide me over til the freebird

Holy crap just the vuvuzela alone

So, almost no new info, except now we know Deakin departs for doing his solo thing.

Deak has been working on this solo album on and off for atleast 6 years now. I can't help but wonder if Deak was excluded for other reasons and the solo album is simply a convenient explanation. Was he excluded from merriwether for the same reason?I can't remember? He's put off the solo album for this long, and now he's going to forgo yet another AC album for it? I just hope he releases something.

His explanation for not being on MPP is that his father died less than a year before the others started writing those songs and that he didn't want to go through the struggles involved with touring. He was active during that time though, remixing songs and being apart of the oddsac development.

Saying Deakin was 'excluded' implies the other members didn't want to play with him. I'm sure it was his own decision to not get involved with another AC project because he knows the vast time and creative commitment that requires. He also knows people are annoyed with the prolonged delays for his own solo album, so I really do think that finishing it is the number one reason he's sitting out.

a lot of these paintings look like what I imagine the album will sound like

You really think it will be this colorful? Or busy? Isn't this closer to CHz, in expanse if not necessarily color?

good point. I think I was mostly responding to the color

Not to mention his studio in Baltimore was flooded, who knows the damage that created.

I'd be pretty surprised if Recycling was instrumental. Since Feels, every closing track on an AC album (and almost all of Panda/Avey solo stuff) has been an upbeat and climactic song, and while it's not impossible to achieve that with an instrumental song, it doesn't seem as likely.

And its one of the longer songs on the album, if it was instrumental I would think it would be more like ~2 minutes.

its not instrumental .

i'd say i hear at LEAST two voices.....

How is this not more hyped up board people!! David Noah John Cale trio!

Totally agree, but to be honest I had to look him up and hear is early stuff, now I am blown away with this trio being a real possibility, it's like learning how to dive all over again

more relevant to the actual thread i'd like to add that I'm kind of starting to get wary of the album because i'm scared i won't like it. but i can't know until i hear it!

SB could just mean vocal overdubs. Like how there are a ton of voices on Feels

i think they were supposed to be soup puns, but i feel as though that point may have been missed..

had to look through a list of soups for this, so maybe it doesn't count [and isn't that good anyway] but..
good lung fung outside?

no?

Haha, they're already songs with references to food. Not doubting that was your intention, that's funny.
