My interpretation of the vinyl-only release is because it's mixed with hard right and hard left elements. When sounds are panned hard they make headphone listening disorienting. Try listening to a lot of '60s pop and you'll hear it.

Actually it sounds like the opposite. "The lion’s share of the noise is centered, or nearly, so both speakers get a taste." But yeah, better heard through speakers than headphones

what a pleasant way to wake up this morning!

a little nervous about his presence in the collective though. the lyrics he posted, specifically "Flight", talks about staying out for a minute and something like "never be the same". the long post accompanying the announcement briefly mentions suffering. although he brushed it off as unimportant, he still made the decision to include it. also the decision to publish the lyrics to "flight". it's almost as if he's hinting at a departure, or hiatus from the group.
maybe the sung tongs show is a last hurrah? maybe this new album is like a goodbye record? he does have two kids and has been in the group for 17 years. its not unrealistic to think that he could be wearing out. i will obviously support whatever decision our boy makes but i can't help but be worried about the future of the band.
regardless of all my anxieties, i am fucking STOKED for this new album. hopefully a PB tour too. woooooo

huh okay sick. ordered. vinyl-only is a unique idea, tho I guess Animal Crack Box was like that (i don't think that had a code..)

kinda weird we'll have to make our own rip but that's kinda cool. feel bad for any homies without a decent record player but i guess it's as good of a reason to get one as any.

Yes but he seems to say that now, he wants to talk more about general things that everybody can feel, and stop talking only about his life so it's a little reassuring :
"It's not often anymore I find something specific to my life that feels worthwhile setting to song for others to consume. It’s a tough sell convincing myself that my own troubles warrant as much attention as those we all share. The strokes of the messages themselves are broad enough, then, that I think anybody can find a familiar face, if they care to look."

Ok this link works but I still can't see the playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oX2xFo ... c8n_smhosa

Trying to go directly to the playlist is still a broken link
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=f ... c8n_smhosa

The playlist could have gotten deleted between the time the sleeves were printed and now I guess

as for the links on the sleeve, my guess is that its like an evolved approach to the 'thanks to...' section on the person pitch and tomboy vinyls, where instead of acknowledging influential artists per se, he's giving thanks to certain youtube clips and songs that inspired him while he made Homies

i like this whole pre-album EP release structure. lovely little teaser before the main event!

could it also be actual samples?

oh i think that this time it is the main event. or half of it? seemed like he confirmed he's trying to do 2 EPs for his new songs and this should be the first I guess. like maybe a 2nd one will get announced not too long after

I'll have to dig up the post where someone described it but I think Panda said he had enough material for 2 EPs, but didn't necessarily confirm that all that material was coming out. This EP could be the main event. Just guessing here though, I have no idea

i think you got it, because if you google that you get a 4chan link talking about their AMA? it's a private playlist though so not very helpful. i feel like it's owned by his P4N748E42 youtube account which is private or something
