Your mom was mad you said mean things to me so no good internets for you.

everyone check out this guy's shitty post history full of bad jokes about people's mothers

If I've been repeating myself then I apologize. I thought he was being an unappreciative little shit. My bust.

But he did say mean things to me too.

like you just completely ignored me pointing out that I wasnt being ungrateful I was just excited. if you wanna be a dick to ungrateful people go over on the subreddit and tell people complaining about the sets

Hi all,
New to the board. Had used it in years past as a way to keep up on information and hear recordings (i guess this is called lurking). Had a fantastic time at Camping Weekend, tons of like minded folks all over made it real easy to cut loose and make some new friends, i cannot think of an unkind word exchanged. To all the people we now know from campsites 51-54 i appreciate all of the generosity and times that were shared, hopefully we can all do it again. Lonecyclone you killed it on the grill.

thank you everyone

:pwn: :pwn:

drew!! so glad you're on here. so glad you were our neighbor! hopefully you got the photos sarah sent.

This was the best weekend of all time! The weather was perfect and the vibes were so cosmic!
Both sets were absolutely amazing, the sound was great and the repeated songs were so different and jammy that it didn't matter at all. The Golden Gal SPACE JAM was on point the second night.

The whole experience felt like a dream- I cried several times out of pure happiness-
I definitely lost it on the first soundcheck when they played Kids on Holiday..

TIM, TREVOR, DREW, FREEMAN, SARAH, MARLIN, NATALIE, JOHNNY, SAM, SAIDA, JOHNATHAN, MAKALI, it was so fucking rad to see/meet/chill/smoke/drink/eat/play/jam/camp/share the experience with you all!

alex, i cannot stress enough how great it was to meet you and mallory, and how you both just totally set the vibe for the whole weekend, almost immediately. the only thing better than having a crystal clear river for a neighbor is having good humans for neighbors.

also, see below [spoilered] for a selection of photos my wife, sarah, took. will share some from some of our hikes later. also, this is not intended as an ad, but i'd be remiss if i didn't ask you to follow my wife on instagram @sarahbfotography. abby posted one of her photos from the weekend recently!

also, re noah's voice.. i would say he was definitely sick, but it's really incredible how he lays on his voice so hard, especially during loch raven. like i almost feel like he's doing it so hard to spite his sickness. or something. really really cool. the whole thing was incredible. thanks to everyone i met.

The whole weekend was so special and I just want it to happen again like immediately. I just remembered Avey singing the di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di di on the second night sounding like Steve Reich "music for 18 musicians" .... :siren: :smoking: :flail: ! I can't remember what song it was during but it was fucking awesome. So dope...such a good band...such good fans.

As soon as Jimmy Mack ended the first night I was like holy shit I hope someone is recording this! and of course someone came through... Love you people. :weed:

Hi! Echoing MILdrew's sentiments above--new here but have had an account for a bit to try to stay in tune with what's happening (yep, lurking, sorry). Had an absolutely incredible Camping Weekend--the right music brings the right people together, and this past weekend was a perfect example of that; so many like-minded people coming together to hike out in nature, talk about life and dance dance dance to Animal Collective. One of the best weekends of my life, and absolutely the best music event I've ever attended. Thanks to anyone here I might have met (and thanks to Sam and Makayla for those dope happy face stamps!!) for making this such a beautiful experience!

Best part was getting my shirt signed and buying avey a beer/talking to Abby about John Cale, her dog, touring and past years sets(apparently those crystal from 2011 tour were made of rosin and ended up melting). Worst part was this dude named drew, kept talking about widespread panic and followed me all the way back to Milwaukee.

i'll try not to do this too much.. really missing this past weekend, though.. i really want to be back in big sur. i really want the anticipation and everything that came with it. all photo credit, again, goes to my incredible wife.. except the few i took of her. redwoods and scenic views are from our friday hike to buzzards point or whatever it was called [buzzard something?]. next is from our 'hike' to pfeiffer beach, and all that came along with that, on saturday. one or two are from our return to venice beach. anyway..

I'd say to those of us who were there, any snaps surrounding the trip are more than welcome!

It's hard to believe this time last Friday we were about 3 hours into the drive from LA and stocking up on beer in Santa Maria.

Yeah, I've been bumping that first night recording in my headphones for the past two days around the office and once in a while i get a lil shiver up my spine and flash back to one of the many special moments of the trip.

Thanks again to everyone who made the whole thing so fucking magical. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Need a soundboard Guys Eyes badly. Doubt they'll release the audio for this since Noah took one too many drags directly from a car exhaust before getting on stage. Hopefully a future show though

I'm sure they will! The only problem is it may not be until the next album cycle which is realistically a couple years off :negative:

Although there is always the chance of a Panda Bear / Avey Tare / Deakin solo set in Big Sur before then!

Yeah i've got the full show both nights, and my own zoom audio track recording too. I'm in the process of uploading them all to a neutral space so I can have friends I met from the camping weekend see if we can fix up the audio a little better. I will say that my camcorder (nikon) audio captured vocals and high end frequencies both more clearly than the zoom recorders; but the low end is definitely more accurately reflected by the handheld field recordings we've got so far, even my own. i'm hoping we can use a mix of the three (or four?) audio tracks we have for the evenings and get something that works out the best.

i've posted the two videos from the show that I have because I wanted people to have something to get at and enjoy before the longer project of making a video for the entirety of the camping weekend is finished.

as someone who's had the soundtrack of AC live shows playing for hours during many sundays around the house spent working, chores, lounging, i'm considering this: it's the pre-show DJ'ing songs playing for a little while along with crowd noises to set the mood, and open up in to day 1, then closure, an intermission with crowd chatter (and a bunch of beautiful photos many of us have shared from Fernwood and the trips we took take the place of the darkened stage) which then would proceed in to day 2. e.g. a ~4 hour video/set!

...Or it'll just be two vanilla, touched-up videos, one for each day.

Hello all! First of all, I want to say that this weekend was the most completing and awakening moment of my entire life. Since then, I have took it upon myself to devote my life to art and making people happy and feel good (in my own way, I guess).

I found this forum a couple of days before the show and read all your hopes and dreams about old songs being played. On the saturday night of this weekend, I was very, very messed up on a couple of things. One made me really connect the dots, and the other destroyed my social barriers. Taking these two things, and watching the show made me love it and think about it SO much that I escaped my friend and started really bothering some people (asking "are you a journalist?" "do you know what this really means," aka things you would only say if you were high as fuck). If you're one of those people: I'm so sorry. You were just trying to enjoy the show and I hope I didn't ruin your night! I wasn't in my right mind. "can't fix us, we're broken!" I worked at Disneyland and felt like a cog in a machine and had a lot of pain and discord in my heart. PAINting with speaks to me and I would listen to it daily on my way to work in the first few months of my employment there

I thought everyone would be venting on these forums or the facebook page or reddit and everyone would hate me and report me to Disney CEO or something. But you all showed me so much kindness and compassion despite this. I need to say thank you to everyone who I met there that completely changed my life. Everyone at campsite #50, the people I smoked out on night one, people who made random cute comments when I was being a bitch, the girl who showed me her awesome puppet, everyone in the crowd who complained audibly when the boys didn't segway into "Taste" or some shit, and everyone I bothered that told me, "hey, let's talk after the show ok?" instead of knocking me out like I may have deserved. The people I told I was the female hunter s. thompson??? The little kids running around the field enjoying the music like us. So cute. Everyone who listened to me talking my head off and fought with me and then made me bacon and eggs in the morning. Everyone who ignored me yelling about how nobody understands Painting With and just going on with their damn lives, haha. Everyone who took care of me. I'm bleeping and blorping for all of you now.

Since then, I've realized many things: I quit my job, obliterated my social anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder, wrote a shit ton of songs, become very involved in social (issues), made amends with many people in my life who I've hurt, seen the source of all my hateful behavior and decided to move out of my current house. Maybe one day I'll write an article about the event, but here's a link to a reddit post of mine:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalCollecti ... ip_report/ (check the guy toooootally missing the point by saying "but muh brother sport")

I wanted to thank all of you for making my experience as complete as it was. There's a definite reason why we wanted all of our old songs to be played. Those reasons are valid. But our favorite artists are people, too. They are very into what they're playing at the moment and we shouldn't feel entitled enough to curse them for not playing what we wanted, lol

Hope to see some of you in Mexico! Thank you all for sharing your thoughts!

would have been funny if the dog had just wondered on stage by itself, instead it was a group of locals waving the dog around in the air before attempting to place it on stage, totally unchill.
