Personally, I'm relieved. A twenty minute song in the middle of the tracklisting is going to kill the flow of the album.

I guess it's Domino making these decisions and not the band but I'm really not a fan of how they've led up to Time Skiffs or Isn't It Now. Releasing basically half the album before it comes out. I feel like 2 shorter singles 2 months out and then 1 month out from the album would be more than enough to build hype. And you could say "well, then just don't listen to the singles". Yeah... right. As if I have any self control.

Gem & I is just around the corner it seems, assuming it drops on the 26th like defeat and soul. That was my second most anticipated iin song, really did not want this one to come out before the album. It definitely makes sense as a single but I really like where it’s placed on the album and I’d rather my first time hearing the studio version be within its actual context on the album.

Pretty sure Kings will be the next single. They made Walker a single so anything is possible.

Imagine if Kings has that sick reverse reverb effect on the vocals like Defeat does

I wonder if AtCAB is going to be a single, a la Strung — it’s short, and didn’t someone (willie?) say that it’s an upbeat poppy one?

If there's another single after Gem I definitely think it'll be AtCAB. Defeat + Soul Capturer + Gem is already going to be over half an hour worth of music from the album. So if there's another single, it HAS to be a short one, and AtCAB probably is single-y. If not that, then maybe Broke Zodiac, but that would be another laid back song in the key of C lol

Gem and I makes the most sense as a single honestly. I kind of wish they wouldn't drop anymore. I feel dropping 3 singles right before the release of Time Skiffs kind of took some of the magic away on first listen. I guess I just need to force myself not to listen.

i think like most of us i'm trying to set myself up to really savor the release (as if we won't enjoy it lol) but the more time i take away from the tracks the colder the proverbial flame gets. September is going to be a long friggin month.

it’s funny how I’ve been anticipating this album for so long that its release feels like the end of an era, rather than the beginning of a new one. it’s been an event horizon i couldn’t see past, and now it’s almost here — an album I can listen to as much as I want, interviews and press and reviews, and hopefully shows, too. although i’m excited for it, it’s hard to imagine a world where we actually have it. I’ve never really had an album experience like this before
