the worst part is that the kickstarter thing that people are expecting is not a new "album", is the recording of his 2009 concert in Mali, so he is taking 6 years to mix a live recording...

It seems like Deakin just abandoned this project for some reason. It would be nice if he at least told people if he's still doing it or not. I imagine he has money to refund people from touring with AC if he wanted to.

Does anyone know if Josh will be part of the upcoming DJ sets? Would be great to catch him in LA in 2 weeks and who knows, maybe he'd be down to talk about the project.

With ac dropping the new album very soon, he's got to have something cooked up. My hope is that the keep "bonus" is a digital download of a single and then he announces the album mayb? Seems kinda weird to wait for the shoe release to do that tho. I also feel like in regards to the live show in mali we probably aren't going to hear anything. If deakin liked what happened there, he wouldve released something by now right?

Clearly, he's moved past that music, or was not satisfied with the results. He might even have moved past the idea of making his own music. That said, the Deakin song which featured in that AC DJ set earlier this year sounded good to me. Doesn't mean it's going to be released though, see Maya for details.

Yeah, he didn't follow through on the Mali thing, I'm sure he feels pretty uncomfortable about it. He might be an obsessive perfectionist and he's still refining what he'd promised. It's more likely that life got in the way, he wasn't satisfied with how things turned out and he wasn't sure quite how to address that. I just hope he's doing OK really.

So, that track ffrom the P4K article was honestly not very good, and I feel like being brutally honest. I think PB has had too much influence on him, especially in the annunciations, but I get that it's a stylistic thing.

I don't think he has a strong voice, live that is. I assume the mali recording's vox were bad, honestly, and you can only do so much in post, imo.

Guys, I messaged Deakin on Kickstarter and he told me he is still working on his project and it's the only thing he is working on at this point.
