Are the amazon samples growing on anyone else?? First time I listened the boys latin effect really killed it for me, but after a few listens it's definitely growing on me a bunch. Also, only like 3(?) songs use the boys latin effect and it doesn't seem like it's going to even be used throughout the entire of those songs!! I'm personally more hyped for the album now!! freebird when????

I mean you can definitely deduce what the album's gonna sound like and figure out if you're gonna like that sound or not?? It's not like just because they're 30 seconds you can't get an idea for whether you're gonna like it or not

seriously. I know 30 secs seems like not that much but if someone showed you 30 secs of fwx or something you'd know pretty much what the song is about. all the clips sound amazing. particularly hyped about "on delay" and "bagels in kiev"

I mean yeah, but I'd say it's more like watching 30 second clips of an episode of a 40 min show. You'd definitely still get a feel of if you're gonna like that episode or not, and sure, the episode is probably spoiled, but we're not talking about whether the episode's spoiled or not, we're talking about if you can get the basic gist of whether or not you would like the episode. Also, you don't watch an episode (or usually a movie) many more than one time, I know for a fact I listen to animal collective tons and tons of times so listening to the clips didn't really spoil it to me.

I will say that after hearing both the 30 second clip and the bathroom recording of The Burglars, you really don't get much of a feel for that song from those 30 seconds. It goes a lot of places in under 3 minutes. I suspect a lot of these songs will be similar.

I mean go listen to the amazon clip of fwx, they don't play a 30 second clip of a metronome and birds, they play the part that would make you want to buy the song, which is exactly what they probably did with painting with.

ok ok yall are right, these 30 second clips are actually super important, ill let you guys in on a little secret i found out about them...
if you layer all the 30 second clips on top of each other in a sound editing program and stretch it out to exactly 41:02 then you can listen to the whole album.

i dunno how it works, but i think they put an inaudible watermark with parts of all the songs sped up super fast, and when you put them all together and stretch them out the songs actually emerge.

the quality isnt the best tho it loses a lot of the detail

im having trouble uploading, but maybe its for the best, i think the band wanted people to experiment with the clips on their own to find it...

just a heads up to those who are going to try this on their own, when you get them all lined up and stretch them out the volume gets really really low because all of the sound gets stretched out and loses power as you stretch it, but if you turn the master track volume up a bunch, you can get it to a really decent quality sound, it's definitely really listenable, altho im gonna stop listening because i'd rather listen to it in a lossless file when its released

also if its not lined up exactly right, and its not exactly 41 minutes and 2 seconds long, then you won't hear anything but a jumbled mess, it takes a bit of time to get just right
