Cool you saw em and also cool that you didn't engage them! Assuming that was by choice
Yeah I wanted to drunkenly hi five em both but I'm in my 30's so I just turned to my friend who pointed them out to me and shouted "YEAH I THINK THATS THEM!" So I got to keep my distance as well as embarrass everyone involved. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Standing in line again
Laughing and then
Asking my friend
"Check this rash, should I go to the doctor's, to the doctor's, to the doctor's, to the doctor's?"
This must make Avey so happy, I bet teenage Avey would have never expected to work on a song with any member of the dead

Mad tune. The cool thing is that anything with Avey vocals feels like an Avey Tare song.

really cool to hear Avey get a feature! that's usually more like something PB would do
I dig the song, too. his vocals do sound kind of like Death Cab haha

Agree with those saying he sounds like Jerry. Especially reminds me of this song:

i never get tired of this video. its stunning, not just because of their performance, but everything about it just feels really special. even though it obviously wasnt planned, the dancing girls at the beginning somehow exactly captures the mood of spirit / danse / hollinndagain

Heavenly. That version of Lablakely dress is incredible but Meet The Light Child is definitive and makes me wish we had so much more from this era.

i really like the video from Springwater Supper Club in Nashville
especially since I play there pretty often with my band. it makes me feel all fuzzy. I imagine what it would have been like to have been there in person. It's such a small space, and Springwater's sound is hit or miss, they have a pretty old system and it's a little gnarly. Also as of this year theres no longer smoking allowed inside, bummer (filthy smoker here). I've only lived in Gnashville since 2010 but it's cool theres some tangible AC history here.

I've played the Springwater a couple of times with various bands and yea that place is unbelievably small. Would have been amazing to see AC there. (One of my old bands scattered ten dollars worth of pennies all over the floor. The employees were not amused lol).

Just a reminder Mickey Hart's new album is out today with Avey on 3 tracks. You Remind Me is great. Haven't listened to the last track yet

Any one listen to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's new album that just dropped? Last two songs have some wicked hocketing, couldn't help but think about Panda. It's free to listen/download on their bandcamp if any one cares to listen, it's very prog-rock with loads of polyrythms and other interesting stuff goin on
edit: also, hope this post is okay here, sorry if not

yeah it was cool to hear! pb gets a bad rap for hocketing. I like how it sounds in a different context

Hocketing rules. This era will probably age pretty well. At least, I can't see its regard getting an lower

I didn't mean that its regard is low now, just that it won't get lower. Although it isn't actually regarded all that well now.
To expand, I think once we have a few more albums out, people initially turned away might look back on the tighter song structures and hocketing as a worthwhile experiment. Kind of like how nowadays people seem to look back on CHZ as something deeply underrated.

i’ve heard lots of people say that. I get why people think that
personally I think it was pretty accurately received, its a very good album though its hard to consider it great in the face of their streak of masterpieces. i still really enjoy it though

Definitely me, but I know I'm kinda wrong.
2017 has been spent listening to Chz a lot and there's something so incredibly intoxicating about it. I went through years of being completely sick of the sound, but I guess I recently fell in love with it again. I do think it's underrated, but I also know it's far from perfect.
