Can't remember if I posted before but a year or 2 ago I dreamt that Panda asked me to open for him at a solo show. The show was in Australia and it was a late night TV appearance (apparently those have opening acts in Australia in dream world, roopn can verify whether that is true IRL as well). I remember I said yes and I had to reschedule work to fly to Australia because it was happening on like a Tuesday. Then Panda contacted his manager via Snapchat to let him know I was opening. The only other part I remember was seeing Panda do his rehearsal/soundcheck and he was playing vibraphone with a jazz band lol

Is there an AC dreams thread?

yes I can confirm that not only are late night shows television juggernauts in australia, they also have openers for their musical acts

I had a dream I asked the band if they'd ever played with lsdj and noah said in the most serious way, yes we used it on Hounds of Bairro. I woke up and there is no lsdj on Hounds of Bairro.

10 yr anniversary of SJ coming up (9/10) wonder if the dudes will drop a boot like they did with Feels. But seems like there are a ton of good boots already from that era. Maybe something more special

I'm not sure what my favorite MPP song has been for the last nine years but Daily Routine is proving itself to be the go-to after all this time. That ending...

Pitch did one of their buzzfeed video on Strawberry Jam for the ten year anniversary

Buzzfeed video lol

That was an ok vid but I think it's dumb to say SJ was their first "truly pop" album. Also their last 2 albums before that weren't recorded on the east coast either. *pushes glasses up*

Their interpretation of Fireworks was pretty shaky, I'm pretty sure it's in there purely to bring up the poo lyric
and yeah calling it a pop album is a bit of a stretch

I think the rest of the video does it justice tho. onya pee fork

That video was dumb and boring sorry. The album deserves a better tribute.

My gripe is that AC has always made pop to some degree. Even Danse is just super warped pop music. And sometimes it feels like the whole point of their music is to blur or ignore those kind of pop/experimental distinctions, so saying that at a certain point they became 'truly pop' is reductionist

I guess a 5 minute video isn't gonna get that deep into like, music genre taxonomy, so I shouldn't complain

I was thinking it was a bit weird that they didn't acknowledge the 10th anniversary of SJ. Although I was also surprised they didn't do more for Feels than share the Cats Cradle boot. Remember when Geo said that they might release an alternate mix of the album for the 10th anniversary? sigh...

Maybe they feel weird promoting themselves a day before 9/11 anniversary. Hadn't occurred to me but that has to be it

well they would have released the album the day before the anniversary 10 years ago, right? and that would mean lots of promotion
