Keen for new boots.... it sounds like they've really hit their stride now with the new material

I saw them in Oakland back in March and before they came on stage they were playing some really crazy drone-ish thing that went on for at least what felt like 10 minutes or longer. It had what sounded like Avey chanting like it was HCTI-era and some drum licks that came in and out towards the end of it and just this constant ear piercing drone. Have they played this before other shows this tour??? I haven't seen anyone talk about it and it would be amazing if there is a recording of it somewhere.

Someone should update the original post so it includes the recent bandcamp recordings.

Greetings yall, I am desperately seeking a boot for the recent May 4th Royal Oak show, if anyone can point me in the direction of a download or upload something from that night they might've been holding out you would send me to the moon with happiness.

It seems theres far less live boots this year than any other year.
Do you think it's because less people are tuned into recording show's n proper ways n right gear?

What do ya'll usually use to record?
Have you guys brought actual rigs in past years?
Or do some of ya'll just use some simple pocket sony mini recorders? iPhones?

I've never recorded, what's been used in the past?
What's able to get past security? And what' sable to sound good?

Nothing to say but ultimate respect to jfw7 for maintaining this. I know I'll be listening to these recordings for the rest of my life, long after the archive is gone and many of you are dead. Lots of love.

Notes: I personally think it sounds better than the Chicago show we recorded earlier this year, but its still a little muddy due to the nature of being an audience recording. I really dig the transitions and Panda during this set, he really let loose in Kids on Holiday and it sounded awesome.

ooh just listened to this. it could definitely be improved with a lil normalizing or whatnot. hey if you crank the volume and don't mind a lot of bass, it sounds pretty good.

i'm pretty sure that's a 2005 show that was mistagged for years and years (it's in the op at 2005-04-30). their touring schedule makes more sense for it to be 2005 and the setlist/style doesn't match 2004 either. i feel like i tracked down a source online too.

we don't have flac though! and if you ever track down the ottobar show that would be terrific!

and it's one of my favorite 2005 boots! the songs develop really nicely
