yah this song is spectacular and it seems pretty much clear that an album or ep of material around this track isn't going to magically appear (although, avey's cooking something up in december so ) which sucks because what I want is one hour of panda bear songs that are all exactly like this holy shit.

Left me scratching my head and shrugging my shoulders. The sound is totally grim reaper, but the song doesn’t “do” anything. I guess it’s fine if he wants to go back to that sound, but the song doesn’t seem to justify it. Glad some of y’all dig it

Feels way more stripped back compared to Grim Reaper to me

I love the way the chords sound

Right, seems like a reaper leftover. Same sounding synths, just everything stripped away til there’s nothing really there. The progression even reminds me of a specific reaper song that I can’t place

This is good. The best way I can describe it is it gives me the exact same feeling as Lisbon Zoo being released.

banger lol

feels like a crystalization of what he was doing on homies, and obviously the minimalist buoys approach. like somebody else said, he had to get that str8 club track out of his system

I want a digital Homies so bad. It's some of his best material and is overlooked because of the way it was released.

I get that feeling. Buoys better for me but Homies maybe higher highs and more condensed high.

YES! when AC produces themselves its my favorite. Exception being the great work Scott Colburn did on Feels.

sunset is my favorite panda song of all time, aside from benfica and musician and a filmmaker. more ppl deserve to hear it !

yeah Sunset is top 5 Panda song for me too. Nod to the Folks is also up there

as much as I love the crisp production on Buoys the blown out production on Homies is my fav and I like the songs better too

part of the math and sunset i think have both crept their way into my top 5. slow motion will always be . #1

panda eps are just the greatest thing. mr noah and crosswords put together and tracked out thoughtfully could potentially be better than most ac things

The 7" version of Slow Motion is one of my favorites. The delay didn't sound quite right on the album version, but still a great song either way.

I love Buoys and it has grown on me so much since it's release but Homies hits some incredible high points that are up there with some of Noah's best work. The production on Buoys through a nice system really brings the songs to life for me and I think if Homies was released with a polished, high fidelity sound similar to what Rusty did with the Buoys tracks then more people would realize how massive those songs are.

Also, we need that motorcycle sample loud as shit back in the mix

I freakin love this. Those descending background vox! Beautiful. This song is begging for an extended cut. Wonder if it’ll get a kind of low-key white label vinyl release. Would absolutely devour an LP of Panda in this vein.

I love it but I miss the sweeping whirring wave vaccuum sound being louder than anything else but i bet its a hard sound to fit in a mastered track. Panda bear ambient loud as fuck sounds album when!

You should be jk I like it now my b.

Sassy synth work .. it's like the clean and real high mixed vox of buoys era on top of a more hi-hatty reaper beat. I personally could go for more homies shit like a whole lot of that, but this is a chill lil toss off for sure. Cheap treats is way more godly as far as loosies go tho.

And yeah I second that sunsets is maaaaybe the best pb song of all time. Next to selfish

Structurally reminds me more of tomboy than grim grim reaper. Just in that the chords are less repetitive and more kind of dynamic. With the like 3 major song sections, the main verse and the 2 bridges

That being said its one of his best releases id do anything fiod an album. Second the homies opinions

This song is bombastic and low key all at once, I've really been digging it. It's probably kinda cheesy to some people though, I can see that. The background vocals kind of crack me up

I wonder if this would make a good classic 45 style record. $5 a pop, comes and goes b side. Eventually it makes a 180 gram ep for the audiophiles. Ok sounds good ill take 2

Yea i think my friends think its cheesy. My friend joked "did you like panda bear when he used to go by filthy frank?" I dont think its wack like that dude but it still made me laugh. I love the song though. The background vocs aren't that funny to me until i remind myself that this is a 40 year old dad. Still theyve always recognized the silliness of their music. "It's okay to laugh"

Panda songs always take a much longer time to grow on me than Avey's, this one is no exception. Still not feeling it.

Homies took me months to get into and now it's one of my favorite releases from him, he hit the sweet spot with those songs.
