Woah, that's raw. This is about to be an amazing tour/era/album. I've watched live slasher flicks vidz a bunch and jeremy is fuckin awesome. Really stoked to hear this. AC is really trying a lot of new things this time around. touring drummer who equals dope and has already worked with avey? yes.

I would never toy with your hearts like that, I am so fucking thrilled. Didn't think it was possible for me to be any more stoked about this tour but this is some next level shit.

Seems like it'd be more convenient to perform older tracks with Jeremy onboard right? One less sample to worry about losing the cable for!

How do you tune a drum kit to sound like a kiddy pool? Haha
I don't hear much live drums on the samples but...

The mickey mouse-shaped drum pads to the right in this instagram pic look like they're connected to that MPC sampler, so it's definitely possible that Jeremy will be triggering electronic drum samples

live drumming would be way cooler than just having the drums come from samplers. and if it's Jeremy hyman all the better!

I really hope that the addition of Jeremy means we're getting some sweet reworked classics
Imagine how Fireworks would sound with him on it

Seriously. This gonna open a lot of doors for these fools. Panda can focus on his electronics or whatever while mr. hyman holds down percussion like a pro. Jeremy is awesome and yeah it looks like hes gonna be triggering samps... or maybe theyll just set a kiddie pool next to him and mic it

If they are bringing new members in the band, maybe I should hit em up! I would love to play bass in this band, I think it'd be a good fit ;)

The fact that WWIWS is the only song recorded with an actual bass guitar makes me a sad panda. But it's a nod to Lesh so at least I'll give em that

based on the sample Summing the Wretch would be totally nuts with Jeremy Hyman on drums with all those crazy drum fills

But Colin only plays on two songs? Eyvind Kang contributed to more songs on Feels and he didn't do a single show with the boys

It would be sick if Colin Stetson was in the band too! It would be kinda weird to have those parts played on a sampler or not included at all in the live versions. So wait...

John Cale, Colin Stetson and Jeremy Hyman are gonna be touring with AC?

seriously doubt john cale will be.

would be cool to hear colin going off in jams on some older songs maybe, but yeah who knows. im just happy about the shake up with jeremy on live drums, i think that will be a real solid addition.

This sounds great. I was assuming Panda wouldn't be on drums this tour and having a 4th member on drums is going to fill it in so much and hopefully make my ears bleed even more.

No way Stetson will tour with them as well. I doubt his sax is gonna be all over this record, and I doubt they're gonna work his sax into any older songs.

Could be wrong though...

Don't know if this means anything but Abby Portner posted a pic on her IG with #johncaleband in London. 3 days prior she said she was flying to London for "Animal Collective Tour"..... ya never know!

the only thing that makes me think neither cale nor stetson are on this tour, is because they are both HUGE names to add for promotional purposes. no dis to jeremy, but he is nowhere near either of those two in terms of popularity/draw for press/ticket sales.

I can't see AC promoting an individual guest musician a part from the band. I feel like it's very central to the theme of the band that any honorary members *(doctess.. etc) simply fall in the "collective", It would be weird to single out someone who's not a part of the song writing process as a "featuring".

Gonna be way more low key than that.

I've seen Stetson play with Bon Iver and Arcade Fire a few times and don't remember it being mentioned at all beforehand until noticing him on stage. Think it would be a bit weird for them to mention it in promo material.

it could be the case with cale, but i dont really think it would be necessary to put colin stetson in promotional materials. besides, arent most all of these shows already sold out anyway?

fair point. the only reason i think it's different is that his status has grown a bit (major festival appearances, a lot of critically acclaimed albums/projects) in the past few years.

yeah i guess i'm thinking more from the press side of things. the plight of the record label PR guy. always thinking from that angle...

It would make sense if Jeremy was drumming, it would open there live show up and I doubt they would be into doing another basically MPP styled live show and it would give panda full range to do a lot. The vocals seem really intense to sing to while playing drums and possibly doing sampler/synth work.

I can't wait to see there setup. It's been a bummer that none of the press has talked about their modular gear yet, seems to sound like the most defining characteristic of the album other than the voxs.

adding Colin would be nuts!

Euro tour confirmed? John Cale special appearance? Tune in at 10
