pretty sure my dad thinks AC is total crap and his reactions make me laugh sometimes
like "there is NO melody to this" or something
it used to bug me, but I have gotten way more lighthearted about everyone having different opinions, etc.

sometimes my dad will say "you think this is life-changing/beautiful? *scoff/chuckle*" and I don't like that because it feels like he is attacking my relationship with the music

SAME ! He told me twice to turn my music down caus it was hurtin his ears and it was just for for Bros and Reverend Green, it was so funny. And my dad loves music, really listen to great stuff but AC is not for him I guess

People really like to put down other people.

I can definitely say that Animal Collective has had just a huge impact on my life. I really don't care if that makes me seem "lame" but honestly, they have really made my year a lot more manageable. They've been my way of self medication when I'm feeling like total shit. I have never been so crazy about a band. Their music really is life changing, at least for myself. I've actually started to love music.

I honestly don't care if people think this makes me a dweeb because I would be proud to be the world's biggest dweebfuck.

If your father wasn't familiar with AC, I think you could pass it off as more than one band/artist hehe
Just the other day I had a friend over and I was blasting Feels. shortly after they asked me to change whats playing, so I changed to MPP. He liked it but I'm almost positive he was oblivious to the fact it was the same band
