Nothing wrong with some nerdy speculation. Going with electro-acoustic krautrock of some sort

i mainly want more fast songs. they can be long but just keep it moving. lets have a live set with propulsive energy like the painting with shows. obviously with a different instrumental configuration though.

i wonder if one of the projects themes will be around reconstruction of a place or a community, or the feeling of renewal. i've been thinking a lot about hurricane helene and how terrible it was for the mid atlantic, and kinda drawing connections to hurricane sandy (northeasterners, remember dat shit?) and living it and some of the images that stick in my mind (a dude using a triple king sized bed with a wooden paddle to get around the flooded backhalf of town, the walls on my garage getting ripped off due to the wind, the lines for water, the boardwalk in rockaway queens getting destroyed, the rollercoaster down the shore being displaced in the water). i know im describing destruction but what stuck out to me was the communal action in rebuilding our communities and how giving everyone was.

I hope they keep the post-PW minimal direction but go way weirder than the last few things. do something that sounds totally unique again out of dedication to a new process, like Buoys. Avey's current sideprojects could suggest something more improv-based which would be cool

There's a part of me that wants something more acoustic, and a part of me that wants something more electronic and danceable. I guess it would be a bit of a retread so I don't think they'd do it but I'd love a Sung Tongs set-up + Josh and Brian. Two acoustic guitars, piano, and Brian doing his thing with more gurdy. I can't really imagine an electronic pop album with Josh in the band, and I would much rather the next album have more of his work on it, but I would be interested to see where the trio could take things after PW. That being said, what I truly want is to be completely surprised

I’m probably in the minority but I kind of love the home-spun remote stuff they’ve been putting out on comps and such lately. I would kill for a full album of stuff like that, or in that spirit
But I’ll take anything

I think it will certainly be influenced by some of the destruction Dave in particular has witnessed over the last couple years. It may be something really stripped back, earthy, hell maybe even political. Songs for a dying world. Sparse electronics, acoustic elements, maybe collaborative. Honestly if they could get back to what they were cooking with the music box performances, that could be soemthing really beautiful indeed

why can't it be like a sung tongs-y acoustic strumming thing that occasionally gets techno-y dance party and/OR more "rock"-ish. That would be both old and kinda new. Processed double acoustics (or electrics), could be avey/panda OR avey/deak so panda could stay on drums, but I don't mind when drums are mostly all programmed, maybe have a cymbal for Dave like the MPP days. Give us like best of both worlds (electronic/acoustic) so it's like Sung Tongs meets MPP/PW energy. electro-folk odysseys that occasionally explode into Cherokee/end of Genies/Brothersport/Kids on Holiday or techno Loch Raven euphoria, sounds so tasty
