good question! first pb single blew me away while the second is just ok so far

the shaw deal single does maybe point at something a little more messy and new while the new pb stuff is tried and true, obviously love pb but might be more excited for the other cuz its more of an unknown??

doug says a release show will be announced soon. i'm guessing it'll just be him solo but it'd be cool if geo was there distorting stuff live

Just finished our interview with Geologist. Gotta say, I think y'all are gonna be pleasantly surprised with A Shaw Deal, lots of vibes, some haunting, some beautiful, lots of replay value despite there only being 7 tracks. Look forward to a new single dropping pretty soon! Our interview will be up a few days before the record drops.

Beautiful album! Got the record a few days ago and gave it a focused listen. More emotional than i was expecting (like in the way Fennesz is emotional). He really let the loops build in cool ways and had specific sonic environments for each track. One of em had a ghosty pullhair/rubeye vibe to me. Gonna revisit tomorrow. Happy to have this on record. It definitely feels like its a part of the AC world. I know Brian keeps mentioning it being a collaboration, which it technically is cuz the source material, but it for sure feels 1000% like a Geologist album

album is great: a lot more variety of sounds than I expected from the two singles, album flows really cohesively. final track "raw deal" is an unedited track of all the samples geo used to make the whole album. 3:18 seconds into a whole record, very cool. one of those listen to the last track and instantly start it back over again.

excited to sit with it more.

Petticoat was the real highlight for me. A lot of space in that track in an otherwise dense album.

yeah curious, apple music says avarice edit (which to my understanding is also an unedited sample) is 2:20, which makes me think "raw deal" is separate... wondering if it'll be included on digital.

ETA: the vinyl is very clearly only 7 tracks, with the final (avarice edit) clearly the shortest, not long enough to include raw deal. so either digital only bonus track or just something brian included for the live stream to show where the samples came from. did anyone rip the live stream? i'd like to have the raw deal track
