I will always defend Meet the Light Child as one of their best songs

I love Danse Manatee! I can listen to it back to back anytime. A great album for winter, but an extremely different (and better) experience on summer. When it finally clicked, together with HCTI and Hollindagain, I felt as if my whole perception of music changed all of a sudden. If there's anyone here that just doesn't get Penguin Penguin as I did before, give it another chance, it's much much more than noise. Also, it has a transition to Another White Singer.

I like to listen to Danse in the woods alone.

It definitely clicked with HCTI and Hollinndagain for me as well!
I used to HATE Penguin Penguin, but it definitely clicked at one point.
That transition into little white glove is SOOOOO good!

My appreciation for Danse came way quicker for me than over half of HCTI

Yeah I downloaded the original show, and they talk about the songs a little bit.
They talk about how it all builds to the forest gospel.

I can't stop listening to Essplode, In the Singing Box and Another White Singer right now, actually. Also feeling a bit angsty.

Those are three of the best songs off the album in my opinion.

Essplode is one of my top five favorite animal collective songs, probably. There are a few other good ones as well but I mostly find it rather dull to listen to. It's fascinating, though.

Essplode is probably like 4th or 5th best on the album to me.

It's all about In the Singing Box and the Round Ball

Aaaww I started making this awesome film for Ahhh good country.
I was In Idaho, and I got a bunch of awesome country shots.
Then, somehow, all my footage got erased! I had spent hours on it!!!
Really though, the only songs I'm not in love with are Bad Crumbs, Living Toys, and Lablakely Dress. (I still like em, but not as much.)

i once covered essplode live with my band but we lost the recording
so easy and fun to play though. the guitar at least, the drums are impossible to replicate

Yeah it was that "first listen to this track from Danse, now listen to this one from MPP, mind blown" post on CA4
What were the other ones?
Ahhh Good Country and In the Flowers?

There were the yells on Meet the Light Child that sounded a lot like the ones in Also Frightened

Danse didn't really hit me until I purchased the vinyl and got super blazed

This is one of those albums that lots of people say you have to be high to enjoy which is pretty annoying, i've never been high and i love all their early stuff.

I'm in no way saying you "have to be high" to enjoy this. That's just how it worked for me. I love listening to it sober as well.

Oh yeah i know, i didn't think you meant that. I was just reminded of the people who say you have to be high to enjoy it because you mentioned Danse and drugs, so it wasn't supposed to be related to your post and was just a tangent. I should have specified that though.

I have to be on my own to listen to Danse because the high frequencies will always be heard from across the room and i'll be told to turn it off
