Alright only cuz I'm sure it's on my mind as much as anyone elses' what songs DON'T you want to hear on this tour? I'd love for them to cut In The Flowers for another MPP track. On the other end the more I think about the the more I'm kind of ok with Purple Bottle being in the set forever.

I’m ready to have no more runnin dropped from the set, I’d be happy with any centipede era track besides pulleys coming back in its place

I like the way they do no more runnin, honestly if they drop anything from the set it should be in the flowers imo. Something about the way they've played it recently just doesn't work for me.

I never cared for no more runnin until these past two
Mini tours hearing it full band style, it made me appreciate it, I still feel like if I was forced to choose one or the other id still choose to keep flowers, it’s just sentimental to me, one of the first ac tracks I was exposed to

Ha right after I posted that I was thinking about how I've come to appreciate No More Runnin listening to the last few tour boots. Longshot but Bluish would be great in the current setup, was playing around on guitar the other day and it translates really easily.

I'd agree that I'm done with No More Runnin and Pulleys live. Both recent iterations have been stellar but lets mix it up with some other tunes.

i’ve had a special place for NMR since seeing it live in 2007…there was a beautiful green backdrop & it was a more minimal early version & it was bliss.

pulleys is such a great live jam but i'd like to see something take its place. i've been listening to CHz a lot lately and it's crazy to me that Pulleys is just 3 and a half minutes long and they turned it into this 15 minute behemoth that kills every time.

Listening to a 9:30 Club show from 2009 and going back on thinking we'll get Fireworks again. If we do I think it might be a lot more faithful to the record version instead of the massive giant it used to be. Between Defeat, Magicians, and the way they've been jamming out some of the new songs they already have a ton of long songs in their set. Fireworks on record isn't even a short song but maybe they'll surprise us.

Father Time could space out too if they wanted. there's a perfect spot in the track as it is on CHZ that could segway into spacieness but maybe they only did that for Pulleys (and kinda Bleeding)

I was sad they skipped On a Highway at P4k, wouldn't mind at all if they play that in March (any FBK track would be welcome TBH).
I think we may get Reverend Green -- If you listen closely on the p4k boot after Panda says "ready the weapon" just before the second chorus Geo accidentally triggers the "bigfoot" sample really briefly. Has anybody else caught this? Seems like they were practicing it at Drop of Sun and decided against bringing it on tour last minute

Someone mentioned it on Reddit, I think you can also hear the bridge to quiet sample at the beginning of Unsolved Mysteries too. I hope FRG comes back but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just left on the sampler from last tour.

It's exciting Paradise is a small venue and the last time I saw the full band in a small venue was 2007! maybe not a great sign for their popularity but great for us lovers.

The venues have me REALLY considering spreading my wings even more than I already am.
My roots are in NH / MA and every dang tour they play the absolute coolest venues around there. (Case in point: the early PW show at 3S art space in NH?! HOLY SHIT that must've been pure bliss.)

Anyone planning on recording any of the shows?
I was thinking of trying to record the Columbus show but I don’t have any equipment and have never done it lol
I was considering buying this because it’s relatively cheap and seems like it might be easy to use? Idk

I recently got a Zoom H6 and if I can get good enough with it I think I may try recording NJ. I've never done it before so I was hoping I could hit some smaller shows before and test things out but we'll see.

DO IT! It's crazy easy and very rewarding. I have a Zoom H6 and it's gotten some great results.
-Get a big enough/fast enough card so you don't have to worry about space. (32GB works great)
-Record at the highest sample rate / bit depth (24bit / 96k)
-Make sure to utilize the "safety recording" feature on the H6 which records a backup file at a lower volume
-Get there early and be upfront and open with the pros working the soundboard. AC isn't gonna give you a line in to the soundboard (which is common and completely understandable) but they're very gracious and empathetic towards our humble goals as fans.
-If you can't bring a stand or anything, find a place near the soundboard to put it. The general goal is: the higher up and more center the mics are, the better.
-Get your levels during the opening act and leave plenty of headroom. You want a strong signal but the last thing you want is for the signal to peak.
-Once it's set, forget about it. First and foremost, enjoy the show. Even if the recording ends up being unusable, at least you can rest easy knowing you had a blast.
Can't WAIT to see everyone out there this Spring!

I'm going to try to record the 930 club show but I know there are more professional recorders out there that usually hit that spot. I just have a Zoom H1N. Thanks for the tip hunks. One thing that I'd like to mention, and this messed me up with an Avey solo show, is make sure you don't have auto-level on. It's simple but can pretty easily screw the recording up. If you're adjusting the levels before AC goes on, you wouldn't have that problem anyway

Thanks for these tips! I remember reading you had done some of the 2021 tour with the H6 and had already been wanting one for practice recordings so I went for it. Do you use the standard mic clips? I've been using the MS in our practice space but I was thinking the more directional x/y clip might be better for a big room kind of show.

Down for a CA gathering/pre-drink/smoke. Traveling from the Northwoods for it, but meeting a few of my longtime friends there. Always grateful to expand the good crew.
