I still do not think it is I like turtles. Even with pitch shift/time manipulation whatevz it just doesn't seem right. Abby dressing as I like turtles kid is interesting though.

I can't listen right now miss amanda but I'll check it out l8er.

it's funny that you criticize others' hearing when you apparently think that the MGS4 video is the intro to todays supernatural when they sound nothing alike (sorry miss amanda jones.)

The overall loop seems to have been drawn from the video but there's something else overlayed over it. I really think it is likely what they used. But anyway you seem like a tool so I won't argue with you.

okay so, I am now at least 91.333337% sure that the sample we hear in the Monkey Riches groove is NOT from the "I like turtles" zombie kid video.

Not saying i'm fully confident it isnt, but I am almost positive it is not. ehh I spent sum tyme tryna crack dis case wit no luck, dis da kinda investagashion dat makesuh sound detective wanna give up da badge, I tell ya... dis mudda fucka here...

Keep in mind, I'm only posting this pointless list in hopes of it ringing anyones bells, maybe something theyve heard before somewhere? Maybe they can manipulate it into the same thing? Maybe we can solve da case of da Monkey and hiz Riches?!

Either by my mind playing tricks on me, or just outrageous manipulations, here is a list of possible phrases, starting with the ones that I would think are most likely it, but they are all most likely not, keep that i mind.

This is the only example where I actually got this thing to sound pretty spot effin on, to the actual MK sample, its my most likely choice (out of all unlikelys ;))
After croppin off the last bit, puttin my thang down flippin and reverse'n it, slappin that B back on, filter city, Grain city, going through pitch shift, and 10x compress city, the sound of 'uniform' would come up after the 'I like"
Led me to that track.

2- "Maybe we should get fadded

3- " I'm thinking we should have played it"

4-" I lied to Noah"
I really like these three, because if it is, one of them, it'd be cute. Little inside joke thrown in there, or a vocal snippet like sung tongs style. However, the only reason I'm even giving them a chance, is because of how damn clear they came out to sound

I could only recreate it once again, i have no idea. But besides the Pipettes song, these ones I trust very well.

I started with reverse engineering the cleanest sample I knew off the top of my head. The Live in Prospect Park DVD, I used several diff machines for testin' but I stuck with the KP3. A lot of their samples are edited through their KP3's to this day, and also its my go to guy for solvin da sound cases.
I guess dis case stayz cold fa now...

I believe you can't get the sample to match because it's been intentionally chopped and muffled in ways. I would swear that it was made to get it to sound like "I lied to her"

I agree but thats why I'm surprised people are certain that it is turtles kid. It could just as easily be anything else too.

well, i think the mere fact that SO MANY people think its turtles kid (myself included) lends enough credence to consider thats what it is. i mean, nearly everyone's kneejerk instinctual reaction in their head is "ive heard that before. its turtles kid!"

only after poring over it and comparing it ourselves does it start to seem like "maybe its not turtles kid cause its been changed"

Hey dudes, I'd like to know what's the sample on Bros in the part where Panda sings "I'm not trying to forget you, I just like to be alone..." I know it has the sample of "Red Roses and a Sky of Blue" but behind that sample sounds like a Music Box or something and I want to know if it's a sample of a music box or it's just 2 notes that Panda plays (what are those notes?).

definitely sounds kinda similar but bobbys loop has that faint guitar in it too and I have a feeling it is part of the same sample as the flute thing but who knowz.
