also question: just curious cos i probably won't get to stay long enough to anyway, but how do people get vinyl signed afterwards if you are able to meet the artist? ie what do you do with it the whole show? or is it just unrealistic at some venues?

I think he has like 13ish new songs? Supposedly he played some more fresh ones at APF so I'm not sure.
Also I'll be in a black Swans shirt and khakis. Excited to be able to meet you wonderful people.

9:30 is a bit of a pit so be careful with your vinyls. tour buses are outside the venue so you may be able to catch panda or geo out back afterwards if you wait long enough. I've never been able to meet anyone at 9:30 but it's worth a try.

Just a fantastic show. I was a little worried it wasn't going to be loud enough but they bumped the volume it seemed a few songs in. Dark Cloud was unreal, so many people dancing and feeling that song. So groovy.

"Payback"? was fantastic, Cant go Back is one of my favorites and he missed that change like he did in that Psych fest recording. Now it makes me think it's possibly intentional. Was bummed that the call and response vocals at the end have been taken out. Oh well, it's still gorgeous.

On a side note, my friends and I dropped acid at 3, did the smithsonian thing, and walked around DC on a beautiful day prior to the show. Managed to meet some really cool people and everything was just great. Great day with great friends, capped with an epic PB set. So grateful.

Awwwwwwww. I saw a bunch of you folks last night. I even touched a few of you

oh wooow that was so worth it all! yes the visuals are almost as good as the music and i am understanding the concept of the album so much more.

it seemed to me like the new new stuff he played (if i can remember correctly) seemed a lot darker than the rest. are they the new ones people were talking about from psychfest?

i definitely saw five or so of you guys and i wish i had gotten to say hi! i thought the crowd was ok except for these whiny kids that i met who just kept yelling annoying shit the whole time ugh. i got away from them after regal degal but they saw me in the middle of take care (or whatever we're calling it) and pulled me over and started yelling & trying to mosh and everyone turned and stared and it was so embarrassing

this also made me glad i listened to the boots so i was able to anticipate the best parts... where i was the crowd just seemed caught off guard...

but man it was fantastic though i want him to come again and again and again

Fantastic show, that surprised me in being less dance-y and more emotionally heavy than I expected. It was a pretty overwhelming thing. And vilent_sibrate is right, Dark Cloud was definitely the hit of the evening.

I heard this too, it seemed like the snare sounds on Heart and Soul were way too quiet... but maybe he's just re-worked it, I dunno. That's my only complaint from the night.

Hung out with Tony, and got to meet Brint and Edaan, who very nicely gave me a ride to my car afterwards. Thanks again guys!

Onward to Philly!

It was an awesome show. About three of the new songs he played sounded incredible on the first listen- the other ones will probably take some getting used to.

Oh man, that's such a bummer Aziza. Really hope you get to catch another show at some point.
And my god yeah, those kids yelling shit during Regal Degal's set were the worst. Luckily I kinda moved up closer to the stage/away from them when Panda started. Sad that I didn't get to hang with any CAers, wanted to try and track ya'll down after the show but my friend/ride for the night wanted to leave pretty much right after it ended.

I know I saw you in your Swans shirts Hellomark, but I hadn't read this thread beforehand and didn't know it was you. Also pretty sure I was standing next to strawberrymeat in the blue shirt when I had first gotten into the club. Catch you next time, guys.
