ACAB only 2 minutes long.. not sure what to expect there, especially since it could be the last proper "song" on the album. Kings is just an acapella piece for the most part right? that's what i remember most from the boots but I've tried to stay away

I think someone said deakin plays bass on soul? Assuming correct I can really hear it in the outro, the bass part evokes fuckin flesh canoe, turn into something,chores guitar, peak deak guit (rhymes)

My friend’s review: “The lead singer sounds like he’s not currently trapped in a jar and being shaken up but like he WAS at one point trapped in a jar and shaken around and he’s lived in fear of it ever since but his constantly pretending to everyone he knows and maybe to himself a little that he isn’t.”

yeah no surprise there!

I only got one listen in so far but my immediate reaction is that this is better than anything on Skiffs, at least production/sound/vibe wise. I love it and think they nailed it and it rules to see so many people on this board converted to fans after being not convinced for so long.

I feel like when the blast version of Soul dropped it was so exciting to have everyone be like "what the hell is this?" Like most people on here I feel like I am so on top of new songs and boots I find it so special when we I get to first hear completely new unspoiled AC music. I was on a camping trip up in Maine with my now fiancé and I was like literally struggling to get phone service to be able to stream it. Lots of good memories from the soul capturer.

holy fuck y'all. this song is... *so* good. i'm grinning from ear to ear. the boys have cooked up something truly special.

Love it. Sounds like the kind of song I would randomly find on YouTube during that blissful year that I discovered AC. Something about the song’s tempo and soundscape bleeds nostalgia for me.

Also would love to know but kind of don't. I know it's pretty hard to get rights/permissions in cases like this but I've always held out hope that the DCB estate would be ok with it since the Avey and Geo are such deep fans.

knowing the way they've teased projects using loyal fans that purchase stuff on domino, i'm not buying anywhere else. even though the tangerine is much nicer and fits the cover better for sure.

Defeat bit aside. I was really not excited for this song, but did a complete 180, this is fucking incredible!

On first listen it's slightly different from what I was expecting, but in a really exciting way. Have no idea what surprises to expect for the rest of the songs! Avey's voice is straight up beautiful here.

The mix is SO much more cohesive and proportional than Time Skiffs. Damn. They knocked it out the park, as did Russ.

are we getting a "sea of light" 2017 sung tongs tour era genies??? to be honest i would love that, i definitely prefer sea of light and was absolutely mind blown when they played it in 2017.

soul capturer sounds so good! i was honestly a big fan of it from the beginning. anytime i see noah playing guitar i get super excited. and the song has a certain grateful dead-iness about it which i love.
