panda's been on a songwriting role forever now i think, just writing a ridiculous amount of good songs (especially if he wrote as much as he seems to have for this one)

ya, but dont forget dave is coming off writing stuff like a sender, your card and modern daze e.. theyre def both rlly hot going into this.. and a much different place than going into chz off of down there/tomboy..

been a lot of talk about vocal trade-offs, comparisons to boys latin, and calling this their most accessible record... but are you guys hearing these rhythms!?!? tempo is so high and relentless but somehow these tracks still stutter and stumble is such a sweet way (even just in the 30 sec clips). this is totally going to be much more complex and mind bending than we are expecting. i dont think im ready for a listen, it is something i should probably prepare for.

guys.. it's so close.. this album is totally their final form... or at least a giant leap closer to it

Hoping you're dead wrong about "final form"... I'm thrilled for the style they seem to be going toward, and this record in general. But I've been hoping for some time that they end up having a really long career, kinda like the Flaming Lips where they just keep evolving into something different. As long as they don't end up collaborating with whoever the new Miley is ~15 yrs from now. Or maybe they should, fuck it!

this album might almost like a full band, full throttle, and fleshed out version of pbvsgr. pbvsgr was about the drum breaks and repetitive pop melodies... but this is all of that energized and fleshed out (kinda)

Hey I'm the one who recorded the rip! To settle this debate, it's not a phone recording--it was done via Audacity. I did turn my headphone volume up at the beginning, because for some reason that affects output that Audacity records on my setup at least. The quality of the preview stream really was just that bad...

I appreciate the efforts but there's a world of difference between the Amazon preview of floridada and this recording, unless the quality online changed since they deleted the rest of the snippets idk

I've always wondered what mpp would sound like with super dry sj style production, and my guess based on the samples is that this album is pretty much that but played at double speed and dipped in chocolate.
So basically I'm going to email AC a new video of myself screaming and/or crying everyday until this album freebirds.

There weren't more that were ever found, which ended up being good. i feel like they were prepared for someone to head to the airport and possibly record the whole thing but instead Floridada remained unheard on the internet before the actual release, and, the two songs that have been heard seem like just the right ones to be previewed!

I don't know what to think about these Amazon samples. This seems like such a venture away from anything else they've ever done in some respects. I'm so stoked to hear this album.

[edit]Sounds like Painting With may possibly have one of the best closer tracks of any of their albums. I love modulated gritty synths that evolve and change over time from choppy split up bits into warm warping pads. So cool!

Does anyone else feel that there's a slight semblance of Grass within Floridada? Specifically the percussion and some of the melodical elements?
