The 2017 edition of CPH:DOX and its concert series AUDIO:VISUALS will begin with a unique audio-visual performance by siblings Dave Portner (Avey Tare) and Abby Portner.

Avey Tare is a singer and songwriter in Animal Collective, while artist Abby Portner is affiliated with the group as a visual artist. When they perform at CPH:DOX on March 16 it will be in those respective roles. Together they will transform the new festival centre Kunsthal Charlottenborg into a melting pot of psych-electronic music and spacey visuals.

I'm assuming this will be a one-off performance similar to the Bjorn Copeland collab at the Getty a few years back. Hopefully there'll be a professional video to document it this time. Despite never being able to attend these types of shows, I love that the band, specifically Dave, continues to do these happenings

Hm that interview left me feeling a little unsatisfied. Wish they had gone deeper into the process of creating the album but I guess Panda's always pretty secretive about that stuff so it's kinda not surprising. Kind of annoying when interviews like this go over stuff that has already been covered a lot like how he got into electronic music after hearing the Orb. The interviewer is pretty awkward too but it seems like it's because he's a big fan, I'm sure I would've been just as nervous in that position

I was always under the impression it was the sound of a zipper on a backpack bc the song is about riding a bus to school...

lots of really good music sounds sound exactly like farts and most of the time i dont notice but every once in a while im like wow that sounds way too much like a fart but maybe it just sounds too much like farts i think sound too much like farts
