Horrible idea. Especially for a beginner.

Listening to ODDSAC on the other hand is not.

Just because you couldn't handle it doesn't mean he can't. But perhaps you're right.

Just listen to it instead. I'd prefer watching because there is too much psychedelic goodness to pass up. THE FACES. OH, THE FACES YOU'LL KNOW.

Just looking visually interesting is not enough for a movie to be good to watch while tripping, but it does help. That being said, while ODDSAC is a visually striking film, a lot of the things that are visually striking are mad creepy too. Sure a family choking to death on marshmellows with waves and shit flying around them and a vampire melting and dying in the sun looks cool, but is it really something you want to be exposed to while tripping? I'd think most people wouldn't. You know just as well as I that psychedelics are way more than just visuals.

This is true, but you and I are different. Where you couldn't watch Oddsac while tripping, I was dying to finish it while tripping. Remember in Richmond we watched it without a hitch in the apartment? Granted we weren't on L but some other crazy shit...

I'm just saying, I've never had the feeling that I simply couldn't watch Oddsac tripping. It's only a movie, that's all you have to keep in mind, in the same way you have to keep in mind you are tripping on a durg

If you remember correctly I was getting vibed out by the movie, but we only made it to the end of Mr Fingers before it started raining. That's why we put it away. I was down to finish it I just wasn't as stoked about it as you. We watched enter the void on mushrooms at JDIS's house and that was weird at some points, but doable. The point I'm really trying to make is that ODDSAC isn't really something I'd recommend someone watch on their first or second time tripping. Also we didn't watch ODDSAC in Richmond we watched the CHZ dvd.

i was wondering something which might be common knowledge, but when they're playing live during improvisational stuff or during break downs in say brothersport or something, how do they know when to come back in/move on or whatever? i guess this is more just live music in general but i've always wanted to know this

I think they practice so much that they knew subtle queues that some gives to signal on to the next part.

We watched Oddsac too, remember? It was after the crazy long hallway of whispers. Very early in the morning. Anyway, you may be right. It could be too much for a new comer.

I really wish Animal Collective would play Safer live.

They seem to shout something that to us sounds like gibberish, but to them is a word/phrase to identify when to start/stop/change something.

Look in the comments for this video, someone explains it pretty well. :)

For example, at 2:13 you can hear Panda say "Alright, let's do it"

AC's chemistry transcends traditional band dynamics.

And also i think they also have said that what seems improvisational is actually rehearsed.

Btw. Does anyone know the video of slippi that they did where avey fucked up the last bit and sang an extra line after everyone else stopped? That was funny. One of the rare moments of AC error

Yeah my two friends ate some shrooms and watched Oddsac for the first time some time ago, and they said quote "it got pretty intense and scary at times" but yeah Oddsac is definitely an experience. :)

Oh man, the music on Oddsac is just something else. Mr Fingers is still my favorite thing they've done in the last 3 years.

Oddsac is good as an album, bad as a film.

I would be so happy if they announced ODDSAC 2 or something like that, but this time, with more songs and higher budget visuals!

Really wish i was into AC back in 03-09 to see all those great albums and bootlegs come out, because even though i like CHZ, it seems like i missed out on their best period (yet). Though i was 7-13 when all that was going on anyway.

I know how you feel, but at least you know now you'll luv them 4ever and never not listen. We can say what their best period is when they stop making music.

He is. I've hung out with him before. He smells like raw adderal and weed mixed with fried chicken and stank puss.

why would Danny Brown smell like stank puss though, he specifically stated in a press conference "as long as it ain't nasty, sanitation smelling, one whiff of that and I'mma be bailin"

I've been a fan since '07 but it grew more intense gradually. Still pissed I missed the shows in that era and just two years before.

07 seems like it would be the best year to be an AC fan, you got Person Pitch in March, Pullhair Rubeye in April, the MPP bootlegs in May, then Strawberry Jam in September.

Yes I am Danny Brown. Yes I am the Adderall Admiral. Yes I take blunts to the face to stay motivated. Yes I am irritated when I'm not sedated. Yes tetsuounderfire and I know each other. Yes he is cooler in real life. Yes I love Animal Collective. Please don't let my celebrity status interfere with our interactions on this board. I'm an Animal Collective fan first and Danny Brown second.

I was also quoted to say "even if it's sour I might lick it in the shower." I am a man of many vaginal pursuits. I go dumb and ignorant when I'm on that clitoris, my tongue game so damn serious, I'll lick your ass delirious.

Dude, he's disgusting. Have you ever smelled him? He smells pretty bad. I can't even imagine what qualifies as "stank" for him.
