People say that, but the official lyrics don't read that way to me imo. I didn't realize Avey already cleared up the lyrics. I've noticed if you Google some of the lyrics they pop up, I'm not sure from where, but as being official from Domino by David Portner. Bat You'll Fly is a great example of that, the lyrics are up somewhere ??? and they're very clearly from Avey.

do you know where i can find them??

Spoiler: show
Abby listen to the click of the
Fluorescence I found in sweet sad mouth
Weather was the Indian way
I bet you never have drov
(And run on to the village) I'll follow
('Cause happiness ain't bein') a swallow

(Am I late instead
When you wake up late
Found your Velcro shoes
It's a holiday
And run on to the village, I'll follow
'Cause happiness ain't bein' a swallow)

I'm tired, faint
On the old
Beware, it's there, she's here, smile
You'll find reasons
To power all the seasons
Power hope infuses the blood
The child dies

(Don't you worry, I'm your brother
Finch rise early, but you'll recover
I said, I said, I said, I said
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma ma ma
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma)

Look who's got a beautiful place
On the Avenue Saigon
Usually we have socks
And my compass to outdoor
(And crouch under a bush) like a mate-uh
('Cause happiness ain't lovin') it's winter

(On a summer day
There's a village way
And the leaves are golden
And the trees are colder
And crouch under a bush like a mate-uh
'Cause happiness ain't lovin' it's winter)

No more, bye. Thrown back out
Your plan on your hands, must carve into shape
Streets are powered with people lovin'
Words are destined to break down and bats will fly

(And if there's trouble, I'm your brother
You'll talk subtle, but that's a cover
I said, I said, I said, I said
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma ma ma
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma)

Lame, lame
The doctor only picks what he wants
Sage
So give it to the preacher now
Mad in here, was welling from the westering wing
A moment rang
Your mother's said your girl is gone

(I could have told you (to be livin' in the (place like one?)
I could have told you (you better let the building run)
I could have told you (to be livin' at the building now)
I could have told you (to be livin' in a building)

Swallow do you want to come home
And we'll ride in my buggy
Take me 'cross the Indian waves
And we'll swim with the great whites
(But you can still think back to) the wild
('Cause happiness was being) a child

(Now house is bare
And your mother, lonely
And your village cries
'Cause the kid is older
But you can still think back to the wild
'Cause happiness was being a child)

My bones see for your eyes.
When you retire, she's here, smile
You'll find razors, the doubt always saves 'em
I am the reason that the child dies

(Every morning I'm your brother
Memories push you to paint another
I said, I said, I said, I said
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma ma ma
Ma ma ma ma, ma ma)

Bang, nail, a doctor only preach like one
Space, so give it to the preacher now
Madeline, is hanging from the west-wing field, and
A moment rang and the moment said, "your girl is gone"

(I could have told you (to be little in the pouring down)
I could have told you (to be little in the living red sun)
I could have told you (to be livin' in the pounding drum)
I could have told you (to be livin', off far away)

Don't you pray if it's only the play then
Writhe its stampings into the ground, yeah
I won't wait for you in a mural if
You won't wait for me in Albania

I feel so elusive in Houston
You feel so exclusive in Houston

Can I get a PM of the EP? I can't find it anywhere. Would buy it if it were on bandcamp

Not actually that enamoured with the EP in the end, unfortunately. I like Untitled #1 a lot and the piano/textures of the long form two-part track (can't remember the name) but Dreams is bloody awful.

La Rapet demo highlights the perfectly delicate balance between noise and gentle beauty on the album. It would have been so so easy to flub it, as they do on the EP version.

Remastered album itself sounds great. They haven't toned it down at all, it's just a little more spacious; separation and clarity are better. Gives it a very slightly richer, fuller feel but the high frequencies are all there.

Agreed on all fronts. The Panda piano is really lovely and though Dreams is a big nah I do quite like the fact that it sits in between the two parts.

I love Dreams. Though it's possible that I actually just love the original. Responses to this EP are gonna hinge on that track, I reckon.

I think An An Angel and Untitled #1 are really cool but I'm pretty neutral on the rest

I just feel like An An Angel was never going to blow me away because it's an alternative version of a song I already love. The mixing throughout the EP is brilliant and really shows a totally different side to the instrumentation from that era though. Would've been super interesting to hear a full Deakin re-mixed version of Spirit - not that I think it would make it better, just different.

Exactly my thoughts. I don't think Avey was super keen on sharing the Dreams cover originally because it's fairly lackluster. Nothing awful, but really not inspired or engaging in any meaningful way - at least in my opinion. Untitled #1 shouldn't have been released as a single - the magic of it is gone after release. It's still an amazing track but it really set me up to think we'd have more like it on the EP.

The remaster sounds phenomenal though and I cannot wait to get my actual vinyl copies of everything.

I kinda love dreams as well, I can see why it might disappoint some but I kinda like how the vocals almost sound digitally slowed down because of the effects on them, weirdly the bassline being so weird and slippery kind of reminds me of 7s, especially the musical, makes me wonder if avey was inspired by it revisiting spirit for the reissue and some of the sounds bled into 7s... also cloud stop being the most spirit-esque song they've done in a while, at least only in that kind of unappealing sound that is made appealing by the song surrounding it way, and the melody to me sounds quite spiritish

i'm actually more blown away by untitled #1 after hearing the entire e.p., it's been on this playlist i made and i must've played it at least a couple dozen times this past week

I received the vinyls today, but that's weird, the second part of the LP is green and all the other vinyls are blue...

Untitled 1 reminds me so much of the dubby MPP-era rework of Chocolate Girl, weird synchronicity there

really digging the ep, i was initially disappointed for similar reasons as others have said on this page, it's clear why untitled #1 was the 'single' of the ep, but it made me overhype the rest. now that i've gotten over it, i'm really digging the dissonant instrumentation in dreams and the 'angel' part of la rapet, plus the piano melody in the other 2 is so pretty, love it so much. great ep

[To me the EP is super super solid. Amazes me that Avey composed all this when he did, managed to make Spirit (enough said there), and also had enough material for a cool project like this. Really is a genius. I love the cover of Dreams the most actually, maybe it's the production, but it feels like a lost Down There track. Super tight on that end from Deakin throughout. It really does feel similar to 08 in how the elements are mixed

This is starting to get silly. Record stores got copies of it but I still don't know when mine is even shipping. They said the 19th, it's the 19th. Why is domino so bad at this shit?

The 2CD will be released here in Aotearoa about a week or so from now. I might preview the remaster to see if I agree that it sounds significantly better, if what people are saying about the EP is true (which I wouldn't be too surprised about, it would be insane if a really solid EP worth of material had been recorded at the same time and never released)

Mine arrived today! Can't detect any defect in the original Mr. Raindrops, though there is a visible scratch in the middle of An An Angel. Luckily it plays through and isn't in one of the quiet parts. The replacement is actually slightly bowled, and has an audible scratch through the end of dreams and the beginning of Bus Travel 2. So at least I got one good copy!

Has anyone gotten a defective Raindrops yet? What is the defect?

you can buy mine if you want it? I opened it and played each side for like 20 seconds and found nothing wrong with it. i can't speak for the entire thing bc I didn't play it too long but full disclosure. if anything the pitch seemed a little funny but I also didn't compare it back to back either. you can name whatever price and it's yours, just take care of the shipping.

Yeah I can’t clock a difference between these. I thought I was going to have to replace the disc in the empty sleeve but nah… they sent both versions. Weird

Reading the lyric sheet while I listen and realising I was wrong about so many of the lyrics. Although some of what's on the lyric sheet definitely doesn't match the song

Hey has anyone not received their pre order? I ordered through my local record store and it’s been over 2 months now with no sign of it. I put a down payment on it but considering getting a refund. Obviously it’s not the store’s fault, but where are we at with the shipping of this thing?
