Haha I think it works pretty well in an almost BrotherSport sort of way, though it needs a longer bridge to have the same impact.
Not really any surprises for that night it seems, though it's nice to see that Bees and Raven were still in the line-up. I wonder if they'll play anything new tomorrow or if they'll just hit the rest of the tracks they didn't do last night.

I'm video recording this. I'm at campground 40 and we are having strawberry jam and peanutbutter for lunch, pAsta and meat sauce for dinner.
I have also seen two zoom recorders besides my own, so we should have good audio too I hope.
Amazing weekend so far. Love yall

I meant in an official capacity, but it's still good to hear that people are grabbing this for the community!

if they do not decide to replay some of the songs they have included yesterday; there are about six Painting With era songs still to play, it will somehow be a different concert format than they have done so far!
i feel like people there would not mind hearing songs repeated; it is the amazing entire experience and new experience of togetherness that is really happening!
It looks like just a few maybe 3-5 songs would need to be added from somewhere if they do not repeat; if they then also include the rest of this year's live songs!

No big surprises. Just like a 15 minute golden gal lol. Right before the last verse it became a 7 minute ambient little thing.

I mean that's actually pretty cool, I can dig it. Hope we'll get an official recording of that.

hey man that actually pretty unnecessarily rude you complete jackass
i didnt mean like "give me bootlegs now fuck you all" it was more of a "boy I sure hope I get to enjoy my favorite bands music soon and I'm glad everyone had fun, can't wait to experience second hand!"
Also, I've been on this site for two years, but I forgot the passwords to all of my other accounts and because I used throwaway mail to sign up I couldn't recover them
so anyway sorry and Fuck You.

this looks killer and i really wish i could have been there, but is it kinda another example of ac getting a really cool opportunity to make a singular concert experience and treating it like another stop on their tour? i'm thinking of ATP (was there something unique about tomboy instrumentals?) and the concert at MPP in 2012. i recognize that they put tons of work and energy into getting their tours right and there are still examples of unique experiences like TTG, but some of these feel like missed chances. idk

It seems like they are sensitive/intuitive and do not wish to cause anyone feel like they have missed some sort of huge different rare concerts if they could not be there.
while still making the concerts as amazing as possible! they did end up playing every song they have learned for this year's setup..! it seems like the songs that were repeated were chosen very wisely too.
i do understand what you are saying too though; I feel like there are other versions of the band in the mediumish future that will bring very improvised songs and quite different concerts each time, but for now they are tuning into learning more and more aspects of songwriting and live performance.

This seems like it was such a special weekend... I'm so happy for everyone who got to go! I hope we see more of these kind of events from the boys over the next few years. The AC live family is a very loose band of folks, I'd like to see the community get tighter where possible!

Hey All,
Had such an amazing time this weekend and enjoyed meeting some of you. I took a zoom and will be posting my boots ASAP. Anyone have a good recommendation of where to put them. I haven't done this much before.
Will try to do this tonight after I get home from work.

Media fire is a good way to share boots. Very easy you just archive the MP3 folder as a zip and you can upload to the site.

This concert was a very unique experience for everyone, and the band, in that it permitted people to attend an event guaranteed to be saturated in Animal Collective fans, an immersive living vibrant world for 2 days. the band did their part. it is up to us, the people, the fans, the humans (not just the music and art we share) to continue making the memories and experiences worthwhile, novel, good.
the sentiment beginning to be expressed here was mentioned by others at the camping weekend, and it was said far more rudely. it's as though people wanted AC to make it a unique experience FOR them, rather than being an incredible weekend enabling people to have life changing experiences and bonding with new kinships.
lots more to say...

We got there around 5 on Friday, set up our tents to the sounds of M.Geddes and Jessica Pratt filling the forest...first set, animal collective opened with Kids on Holiday and I couldn't help but feel like it was their message to everyone there, "please please please, try try try to enjoy"...rest of the set was incredible. The stage area was like a oval lawn with the band set up infront of a vast bunch of trees that were projected onto. Set 1 was over real fast but was heavy on b-sides and energy was high! Avey told everyone to "Keep it healthy, got a long weekend" which was reassuring...Then Winter in the tavern, which to my surprise wasn't the doom metal band from the 80s I stupidly confused to be playing that night...it was actually a shoe-gazey indie rock band. I bought a tote and fell in love with everyone in this band...good vibes!! Panda sat at a center table outside on the deck area and it proceeded to give the night that feeling like you were at a house party with them...best vibes!
Day 2 was the day to chill hard and indeed everybody did. Got lunch, sat around in quiet disbelief we were there at all...sat on the river, conversed about the desire to battle the inevitability of your own death and not wanting now to become the past....into Eric Copeland's set at 6:15, which was a banger! Playing alone, I described his set to my friends as Trash Collective...very garbled noises old man voices over intensity distorted samples...it was like if you watched a solo panda set but from an album he hasnt put out called "Old Man Trash City"...these are negative evaluations either, it was a great set! Then came time for set number 2. This one had more new songs up front...and had the impression they didn't need to ease into it as much. When they played songs they had from the night before, you hardly knew and really was just a reinforcement for being there with them at this moment in time. After the extended Golden Gal i got that feeling like AC is similar to the grateful dead in how if you knew their songs, you knew they played that one file about 10 more minutes than usual. Then it was up to the tavern for Range of Light and Wilderness...but we were pretty tired, so it was back to the tent soon thereafter.
I'd have loved a third day, more acts during the days/nights, more random songs, but that all just feels like being handed the world and then asking for more, so in more than content. This was my second time seeing them in big sur since the 2009 tour stop...suffice to say I "handled" this one better, and I'm happy I feel like like they'll probably play there for years to come...and I'll go every year!

unless you're absolutely opposed to it i will probably end up re-tagging and re-uploading them to my mediafire account anyway for consistency's sake before adding them to the OP of the "all known live recordings" thread. if you want to skip the middleman and just send them to me we can skip the middleman but it's up to you.
thanks for recording!
