Update: Deak confirmed for NOT on the new AC album

With Deakin definitely not on new AC album that we keep getting veiled updates on from Dave's Instagram, do you think Deakin is working on his solo album instead of participating in LP 10 album and tour cycle? Did anyone talk to him at the Bowery Ballroom shows?

Didn't somebody talk to him earlier this year and he said he wanted to have it out by the end of the year? might not be feasible anymore but seem to remember something along those lines

I'd just like to be told he hasn't given up.

yup, near the top of this page. in january he said "finished by june, out by the end of the year." hopefully that ends up being true

I wonder what Deak's plans are? Is he still planning on releasing an Africa inspired release and a seperate solo album? And which group of songs will be included with the shoes? And what format will this secret be in? CD? DVD? LP? Casette?
And for some reason, the April release of these shoes, makes me think Josh will be touring with the band around that time

Looking back through this thread, its cringeworthy how much negativity is directed towards Deakin. Granted there are people who are just eager to hear his solo music and wish him the best, but a lot of people are just throwing speculative insults towards him. That's unwarranted. Being concerned at the project's status is understandable, but to spread negativity to someone who raised $26K to help end slavery with Temedt is terrible
His father passed away 10 years ago, plus the situation in Mali has gotten much worse since his 2010 trip. Friends and connections he made there could quite possibly be in danger or worse. It seems like a very dire situation. The bottom line is no one knows what he's going through, and to make condescending remarks to someone who is trying to do good is just wrong

Sorry for the rant. I just hope now that it seems like something is actually coming soon, we can all stop the rude comments and jokes and instead be excited and grateful to hear what the Deak has been cooking up
