I've been listening to some of the bootlegs from 2008 and I never realized how many of those shows Noah was sick during. His voice sounds pretty hoarse...poor guy. Also interesting because that's around the time they recorded MPP, though obviously that all came out great.

limited edition only 15 copies made!
(and 12 of those were subsequently destroyed for reasons too obvious to mention or make note of)

Today I have come the conclusion that Dance Manatee is my favorite animal collective album. When I feel down/up, sad/happy and most of all when I feel nothing it is the one record I can always play.
It is really a comfy record

Think about this:
The time between the releases of MPP and Painting With is longer than the time between Hollindagain and MPP.
Is that weird to anyone else?

that is weird. but I guess time stretches and coils as it moves so maybe it's totally normal? who knows

That is mind blowing, actually. So you're saying, essentially, they've released nothing good in the second half of their career. Amazing when you think about it.

Because Jane havent played together for over 9 years. Also Panda Bear is busing touring with Animal Collective and now he is currently spending his time off probably with his family in Portugal

Yeah, I was disappointed when I didn't see their names on it. Wish they would do one more acoustic show, like that one excellent sung tongs-era recording

Does anyone know what kind of gear Noah used to record the vocals for Person and Pitch and Tomboy? I've always assumed he just used some sort of audio box to sing in to Cubase or whatever, as opposed to using tape or anything fancy like that. All the more props to him if so, because every time I've tried that approach its come out sounding like junk.
