love the album art and especially the color palette. perfect fall atmosphere

insane sequencing lmao. pleasantly surprised and very excited to hear what it sounds like — i wonder what sort of transitions we will hear, if any. defeat into gem & i is bold as hell, especially if gem just hits the ground running

the last note of Broke is pretty similar to the first notes of Magicians -- wonder if there's going to be any transition there......

yeah honestly my only real gripe with the tracklist is that they didn't spread these out more. I feel like one of the shining characteristics of this album is the proggy-ness and this kind of undermines that

Ew, yucky construction paper rectangles! Eh guess that'll grow and the colors seem about right. Kinda gross tho! Like it's a dank color scheme to me, seems dusty like I can smell the moth balls but that's probably the point.

Tracklist is cool and a little wild. Every part of the tracklist or vinyl side you focus on just seems so so strong. Maybe Clubs will suck but yeah I hope it's about golf, big golfer here

finally! it feels like it's been a lifetime waiting for this. love the artwork honestly and the tracklisting is nothing I would have guessed. although I am glad defeat stands as the center piece like it deserves. now I just need that release date confirmed and we can all settle into still obsessively anticipating in this forum until then

Hell yes. Defeat right in the middle is actually perfect. Kings Walk is still a really bleak closer and I think it’s an incredible choice. Nicest surprise after putting Magicians and Defeat back-to-back.

Though I kind of had a heart attack because I saw the post before coming here and thought the tracklist was only the bottom corner. That would’ve been the weirdest album ever

yeah this continues to be a bizarre rollout but preorder etc is 100% going up with the single on wednesday

No you're right here the promo for this thing is crazy. For as much as we hate on domino here it feels like they have no oversight on AC promo. Like the IG story tease happened at 9:30pm on a Saturday whats happening there

1. Yes, rollout has been bonkers and I love it. Sending people Defeat, the Isn't it Now website, the leaves etc. Just nuts and perfect. They must be reading the forum, there's no question. Sup Deak.

2. Artwork is lovely I think and ties in really well with Skiffs but like... a gloomy version, which is perfect given the release date and tracklist.

3. The tracklist is just... truly bizarre. Like everything is in its wrong place. King's is a whack ass closer and having Magicians and Defeat back to back with Genie's second is just... fuckin WHAT?? Also feels like they're just slopping Gem, Stride, (new track great name) and King's after the big daddy headliners.

However.

I trust the process and I don't think there's a single AC album that I'd have sequenced the way they did, yet somehow they work out sooooo bring it on. Fuck it, Magician's>Defeat best one two punch in the history of ever.

If you don’t think Stride is a big daddy headliner I have to believe you haven’t experienced it live because it’s just as huge as the others

I always thought Time Skiffs was supposed to look like blotters on a related note, but this one isnt as druggy to me, way more like the tablecloth my grandma used to put out on Halloween. Time Skiffs, PW, CHz, SJ and MPP all have this more adult feeling to them that I think the album cover conveys, whereas I feel like this is swinging me into childlike memories of a Halloween I had as a dream as a kid, feels in line with Sung Tongs, Feels, OG Spirit, Ark, and Danse in that way.

Also MPP, Time Skiffs, and Feels are my favorite art by them in no order, and this one might swing up there. I like the turquoise-- very interesting choice, but it adds a real depth of juxtaposition and foreboding. Skiffs was really, like, in your face kinda cartoony, absurd and directed towards Americana, and the kinda warmth comes through the details, but I feel like the inverse here. The overwhelming feel is warmth and nostalgia, even if it is a lil spooky and overwhelming, but underneath it all there's this sort of battle going on in a way... an adult whose jaded gaze is trying to return to that Dreamland... yeah they swung out the park having art this excellent again

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Stride and (seemingly unlike a lot of folks here) King's, plus the Panda joints. But when I say big daddy headliners I mean the long boss battles.

This sounds like a joke but I have a real prediction that Soul Capture will be the single tied to the album announcement and there will be a music video to introduce fans to the Soul Capturer character as Domino’s first pitch at a sort of Grateful Dead style mascot for the band
