We need a good cover or title. We need one of the two

the more i sit with it the more i like the title. the question without an answer, the absence of an image or referent: it’s stark and existential. instead of a thematic image uniting these songs, it feels like they are circling around a void or a wound
however if the text-on-orange is the album cover i am straight up lighting myself on fire

no way the album cover is just the text, wasn't it confirmed somewhere avey did another collage? no way in hell they'd ever do just black text on an orange background, definitely going to be way more intricate...

yea i agree, i think it'd be pretty cool if the text was on the cover, maybe as a centerpiece with a collage surrounding it? idk just my thoughts,

don't want it to be the cover but i'd love if it's a sign that the cover will be orange, fits with fall vibes

The leaves that come when you click on the site suggest some falling leaves might be involved, which would be sweet.

I really hope they release the music box show in full at some point. I believe they've been asked about it a couple times and have even gone as far as saying that's the plan but just waiting for the rest of the songs to be released. (which only would've been defeat)
idk why but it took almost a year for me to finally Crack open the boot of that show. I think a big part of it was not wanting to fall in love with songs that might be been just a one-off performance. which kinda held true with most of those songs. that road to glory song was so beautiful... anyhow we are roughly 13 hrs until the news breaks! (hopefully a 9am drop)

Might not be for a while, Magicians from Baltimore is also going to be on Isn’t It Now, and Deakin plans on releasing the other two of his songs from that show as solo releases
Also isn’t it supposed to be announced Wednesday, not tomorrow? Sorry to double rain on your parade lol

sorry but how do people know when it's going to be announced / released? I've been having a hard time following this thread lol
Hey, all these were originally found on here several days/pages ago hah. Appreciate the updates tho - looks like the IIN image is indeed showing up on myanimalhome.net now. No date to be found, and I've torn the applet apart.
trusted source revealed Soul Capturer single on Wednesday and judging by the recent activity on Insta and myanimalhome with the 'Isn't It Now?' stuff people are assuming album announcement also Wednesday.
I'm still not sure how we know for certain it'll come out Sept 29

Some websites had that date listed, a few European online record stores. Either way it was confirmed in a blurb for an Avey DJ Set that "a new Animal Collective album is coming this fall" so

Didn't Defeat end up dropping a day or two earlier than expected? Like I remember TTG saying that it would drop on a Tuesday or Wednesday and we ended up getting it on Monday. Anyway I hope the same thing happens here heheh

TTG told us the week it would drop, but not the day. We just assumed it wouldn't be Monday because Domino usually does announcements in the middle of the week (and then we were wrong)

Selfishly I’d love if it’s September 29 because I go on a big trip that weekend, but the listings we found for time skiffs and defeat on those sorts of websites were both off by at least a week (and in the case of time skiffs several months iirc). So it prob is September 29 but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a week or a couple weeks off

Strangely enough the info I had was that it would be available from midnight on Sunday 25th June, which is why I was slightly vague about the specific date on here. Thought there was no way it could've been right and that was just a placeholder date/time, which does happen. Maybe it was right though and they just pushed it back by a day because there were delays with the vinyl mail-outs? Dunno.
Either way, the info I had for PJ and 7s were precise and SC looks standard (Weds mid afternoon, classic Domino). Would be very odd indeed if they didn't run with a full announcement given all the Isn't it Now stuff.
edit: no clue what time zone that mid afternoon could be..

-- my experience is most singles drop 7-10am PST / 10-1 EST ... that's mid-afternoon in UK, Domino HQ
-- if the album begins "Soul capturer, now it is the season" then the album has to end "isn't it... defeat" ... already the most devastating album in AC's catalog just thinking of the melancholic behemoth that will end this thing
-- with that in mind, the title which has taken me a lot of time to reconcile with, is pretty deadly perfect
-- expecting a very leaf-heavy album cover, lots of oranges, browns... this is definitely autumn music

C'mon this thing has to freebird today or tomorrow right? I don't even need to hear the song. I would settle for a low-quality jpeg of the album art. The name of the new song? Just something to keep me going.
