"come back twice as hard" = double album??

Latest album covers:
Spoiler: show

^Didn't really try on that one
Edit: It's also very reassuring to hear SB say "everything is recorded." Even if every song is not on the album (which is obviously most likely), it gives me hope that every song will get an official release of some kind.

Love all the material from this era but I hope this isn't a double album. Pick the best and save the rest. Halloween EP would make my year!

I also wonder what this means for the next AC record. If P-Bear releases Grim Reaper in 2015 does that mean no new Collective until 2016?! Agh!

don't think so :( went looking for a recording on the social networks last night, none. and if green man recorded or streamed it somewhere it doesn't look like it's been archived...

I actually feel the same way. There are only a handful of double albums that I really love and they're very, very well done (e.g. The Seer). Most double albums that I've listened to feel bloated or unfocused, and I would hate for that to happen to this album. I'd take a focused single LP with logical track sequencing over an all-you-can-eat double LP any day.

I don't think AFX is really in Noah's listens that much today, but he's definitely an influence of Noah and I've read in some interview that back in the day, a younger Noah used to listen to AFX and even tried to make fast, drum programming stuff, he was also into Squarepusher, so I bet that he has listened to the (long lost) Caustic Window LP (nice album, btw) and that he's also going to listen to the new record.

I remember in some interview it was smth like: "back then, when we thought that aphex twin was good..."
I am not sure it was said by someone from Animal Collective though.

i know it's a really specific thing to want but i really hope the THX drone ends up on the album. maybe not the apocalypse now sample because that's probably super expensive to clear but damn. it would be a perfect ending

double lp's are usually 'hard' for the human attention span ......

anyone who uses a moog murf is the bomb right from the grid.......sweet sucking.....
where's she from ?

the Dave stuff is nice too . reminds me a lot of the Flying lizards broke-down dub stuff from 80/81 . which i love......
(their hits were sweet too , but 'differant' ) . recomended 4 shaw .

Not saying I don't have the attention span for it (I definitely do) but so many artists do not take replay value into consideration. As a listener of music, I always play albums front to back. Never listen to single tracks unless I'm in a car. Would much rather listen to a 45 minute album twice then a double album of the same length. This is a problem I have with hip hop records as well. Pick the best of the sessions and create a truly classic piece of work as opposed to "here's everything we got, you figure it out". Just a personal preference.

Thanks for the reply! I always look forward to your posts SB
