what do you guys think the chances of Panda adding some european shows in between his August 15th show at Jabberwocky and his September 12th show in Dallas are? I will be over there from August 20th onward and am desperately hoping I can see him. I wasn't following him during the Tomboy tour to know if he did anything like adding shows during it
always a possibility, its happened before...
only peter gabriel knows for sure.
haha ok good to know it's happened before. i'll keep hoping

Anyone else have ideas for reworked songs that would mesh well with Noah's recent/upcoming sets?
I'd love to see:
Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker <-----> Atiba Song
Tropic of Cancer <-----> Bonfire of the Vanities
Cosplay <------> Laughed for a World Filled With Fantasy (this juxtaposition is fantastic)
New Town Burnout <-----> Garage
100% nadir/drone

Sonic Boom, do you have any idea if Noah was interested in doing this again?
Morning !
Hmmm ...... It was'nt Noah's idea to do it before ,
He was very modest and self -depricating about it ....
It was the label's idea .....and ofcourse i thought it was a cool idea
...then , thru the mixing we found a lot of cool variants - especially the instros &
A capella shit ...
Will there be on this ? These things usually depend on how suck cess full
an lp is .....and thats always a vaguery upfront...
If i know il Noah , he'll be slicing up improbable ready to serve up
awesome asap . Whether i get sent back into the files or remixes abound i just dont
know ...
Were certainly both ready to let this be out . unfortunately that xmas deal
often serves as a dead patch for anything but xmas repackages and seasonal
schlock . But thats biz stuff that is part of the big game & not anyones faults or noah's territory to change.
But I think there'll be stuff to tide u thru ....as Dr Eyegoo has intimated ...
Meanwhile , somethings for the weakened ?
I was thinking those digging tropic of cancer might enjoy ' the innocents ' ...stuff like 'tick tock' & ' honest . I do' . The 'classic innocents 'cd has all the jams...
Was also thinking you guys might like the monks .
One of Noah's favourites - the Caravelles ' mama you been on my mind '
He was saying that 'Garage' reminded him of The Love joys......so theres a spin from him ..
Hope its goodtimes in ur zones

Thanks. It's obviously a bit of a frustrating thing for the guy wanting to release the hard-earned fruits but yeah, the label has to make its best dime too. Thanks for the tips and update.

Thanks for the music recommendations Sonic! It's amazing how much good music is out there that is not well known.

Thanks for the answers SB and also for the music recommendations, much appreciated.
Perhaps Noah could consider rewriting the lyrics to be Christmas-themed and release it as a Christmas album? Kidding, of course, although I wouldn't be opposed...

I think what he was implying was Xmas time is a bad time to put out a new release, maybe. So either before or after Dec? Prob. After.

Not that I was dreaming about this record coming out or this thread again (haha...more than once), but a few nights ago in a dream a friend showed me a sweet doggy with a long camel neck like an accordion, that stretched out & scrunched up, but only when it walked forward. I called its neck a 'calender', that made a set amount of time shorter or longer by 'folding up'. I realized its neck was like a camel's because it was showing me how to cross the 'desert' or a long, boring time. It was doing this thing I called 'puppy circles' & it was really happy - that was the way it influenced time. In fact, thinking about it now, it was rather like that dachshund (?) gif that was posted earlier!
hey Nat
thats great ! - the pre-aztec 'mexican' /sth american tribes used codeces , very much like you describe this 'neck' . most were destroyed or removed from view by the papacy .
these are'nt fully understood , but were foldable so that ANY two pages could be adjacent /sympatico .
it is believed they were a sorta cross between a calender and the I-ching ....showing crop cycles , planting rythmns , worship demands and more than is still undeciphered.........
the Borgia codex is an example still around & available , along with scant few others unfortunately...
aside from that they are extraordinarily beautiful in their designs . stunning work . sometimes eerily gruesome..... and sometimes (particularly the lost ones ,i imagine) full of sexually explicit images ...
it's not entirely understood why these peoples dissapeared......though the best guess is......drought...
so maybe the camel have the clues.......? p x

I really hope that it makes the album. I think it might be his deepest track yet.

"fortune cookies tell me the future" "I love Chow Mein", best lyrics ever. If you hit the play button its one of those Rebecca Black meme songs. It's so funny that they just added it to Panda Bear's discog.

I didn't know he produced it, but you can clearly see him playing drums in the video with the Chinese geishas.

When he flies away on a rainbow at the end, he's presumably going to meet the Grim Reaper. That would make this video a sort of prelude to the album, demonstrating in graphic detail the dangers of eating too much chow mein. Perhaps Panda Bear (Lennox's ursine alter ego) really did succumb to his sodium-laden diet, or perhaps his meeting with the Reaper will be revealed to have been a dream reminiscent of Little Nemo's indigestion-fueled escapades.

Panda Bear will change to Panda Express Bear and Grim Reaper will be just an advertisement for Panda Express and Chinese Food. Calling it.

It's interesting how the lyrics are written:
Wont come back to it
can't come back to it
In the boots he doesn't say "back to it" after "wont come back".
I wonder if these are official lyrics telling us on the recording Panda overlaps "can't come" and "to it" from the previous line. If you sing along with it like that, it makes sense are sounds interesting.

i havent heard it but those last lyrics look like they could make an incredible end to the song
also Ethmin pointed out earlier in the thread that Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker is a crazy name for a song and i cannot agree more,,, ive become obsessed with this saying. the aesthetic that pops into my head whenever i think of this title is so beautifully christmasy/folky/pinnochio-ish
