significant post on the subreddit from a guy saying he spoke to the band after tonight's show: "Avey says his new ep are songs from the cows sessions though they sound nothing like the album. Set for December. Panda says that he just was experimenting with trap and didn't want to do any more with it. Digital homies set for November. They are also going to hit the studio for anco's new album soon and the album is set for 2020"

Definitely the most they've put out in a year. Only 07 rivals it in terms of quality I guess

thanks! also...

Centipede Hz may be hit and miss for me (for instance contrary to many i really can't fw Amanita) but the strength of New Town Burnout is enough to redeem the entire album :metal

Been revisiting some stuff from the Painting With era, still probably my least favorite period overall for the band just by the amount of songs I feel are a bit lackluster and skippable, but it has reaffirmed my love for Peacemaker. It's really a gem from that era, something about the melody is so mysterious and jazzy that it almost sort of unintentionally foreshadows what they're doing now.

Do you think it would've worked better on a Panda album? I remember reading the band retooled the demo to be an AC song.

nah i love it as it is and it fits nicely on the album, its just a standout for me. that being said i would love to hear what Panda would have done with it alone, but we'll never know!!!

While it sounds like I like Painting With more than you, that song is a huge standout for me as well. I think it was a legit mistake to not have it on the album. I love all their albums, but I will say that I wish I could resequence Chz and PW, swapping some b-sides for lp tracks.

Yeah it's known, although I had no idea before I heard Lonely Wanderer. It ruined the song for me because the original piece is so beautiful

lol I kept skipping that reddit thread with Nick Offerman holding MPP on vinyl bc I thought it was some shitty meme. But apparently it’s actually from a scene in a movie (Hearts Beat Loud) where he shows Toni Collette MPP. Followed by them talking about My Girls in a bar. W/e kind of cute

I'm glad I only listened to those Avey boots a couple of times. I've completely forgot all of the songs so the new EP will be a nice surprise for me.

Trying to do the same thing with the new AC but it's harder for me to resist the temptation...

Black Dice's Aaron Warren directed the "K.C. Yours" video, using clips filmed by Abigail Portner (Dave Portner's sister) and Garret Curtis. Abigail Portner and Garret Curtis also filmed the "Remember Mayan" video, which was shot at the Echo in Los Angeles. The EP also includes a live version of "Eyes on Eyes," also recorded at the Echo, and a live version of "K.C. Yours," recorded at Antone's in Austin, TX.

Hard disagree! Live chores rules (got to see em do it once) but glad they weren't completely faithful to it in the studio version. Still wonder what's with that lyric that's not in the song "It's not going to happen."
