I was thinking Rosie Oh was the best fit from CHz for the current setup but I would DIE if they broke out Monkey Riches

Can they honestly just start drawing from most of SJ? Nearly half of it is already in play so why not whole thing potentially.... I don't necessarily need a Peacebone (tho that'd be hype af) but ya #1 or Cuckoo or certainly FWX would just be insane. WWL...

I think for whatever reason that that is the most interesting and vibey-est era to draw on rn

i'll really be surprised if they don't bring out something from spirit. this seems like the best era for it. I realize they probably don't prioritize spirit stuff since it's nearly avey solo material, but god.. they would nail basically any song from it right now.

I know I say this every time they tour but PLEASE play fireworks it’s time and would sound ethereal with this setup. Panda rocking the full kit, deak doing the toy piano bit and other textures, geo adding some earth shattering bass with the sub 37. Would be absolute bliss. Other contender for most wanted would easily be brother sport which I think might actually happen considering they don’t have many other MPP songs to pull from if they wanna add another one

:/

"We are thoughtful about trying to give people stuff that they'll be psyched about, but we push people," Dibb explains. "Obviously, there's a version of Animal Collective that would go on stage, and every night they would play 'Fireworks,' 'My Girls,' and 'Brother Sport.' I know we could be that band, and we've chosen not to be."

this just means they'll subvert expectations by playing all three of those songs back to back to back. right guys? right?

I mean Avey did pretty definitively say he'd never play Banshee Beat again....

Oh god I hope they bring some of the '19 old songs like Banshee and Grass back. Hell I'd take Native Belle

Mountain Game is kind of like their Hey Jude most especially as a non album single!! but also as a slow building song that has really creative melodies and interplay!!

i am not sure which tour it will fit, but i do hope it happens someday!!

Why do you think so? I would've agreed until they brought back banshee. Deakin said in an interview a few years back that it's one of the songs (alongside banshee) that makes his whole body well up just thinking about it.

fair point about banshee, but even compared to that, cuckoo comes from such a painful emotional place that it feels unlikey to me that avey would want to revisit it.

Gotta do What Happened. they just gotta. they have played 2 oddsac songs now. Its bound to happen. What happened is one of the BEST animal collective tracks ever. It has every element of all their releases smashed into one. The ultimate closer. Please

It ticks a lot of boxes for like, what you expect of the live AC sound. They could jam it out and go loud as hell. I predict they'll bring it back like every tour (and will continue to do so)

those few live versions that exist of turn into something are really amazing. i was just saying in another thread the other day that theres one recording from like feb 2005 thats like 15 minutes long and includes the frog samples used later for in the flowers. Also aveys solo version from the livestream is so beautiful.

I really think its time to bring fireworks back too

Turn Into Something is lowkey one of their best songs. Those 2005 live versions are some of the best music they've ever played. It's crept its way further up my list of favs over the last few years.

I'll say it, I want Brother Sport back.

Assuming this TS/IIN? lineup won't return, it's really a bummer that they didn't play more Centipede Hz cuts. I guess Applesauce, Wide Eyed, and Pulleys was already a lot by their standards, but I feel like they could've easily brought half the album back into rotation... this lineup has just been really perfect for it. It'd be nice to hear songs like Today's Supernatural, Rosie Oh, and Mercury Man performed with more clarity. And I always thought it was a huge missed opportunity not to play Father Time during the Time Skiffs tour lol
