it's so crazy that SG is finally on the way - that tweet about the album coming in "202x" feels like a lifetime ago. cannot wait to finally hear these tracks. haven't indulged in any boots. not really sure what i'm in for.

Ya man. I think the exciting thing about this era is
no one really knows how this will actually sound. Outside of a few boots that showcased 5-6? new songs YEARS ago, we do have not much to go on other than Deakin's description of the sound in his interview from earlier this year.
Do we even know if Panda's keeping the bendy guitar for the studio recordings or was that just a live fascination for a bit?

I'm finding it hard to wait until Tuesday. My record store opens at 11am and I plan on taking an early lunch to ensure I'm there at opening time to snag a copy. Apparently the 7"s are very limited.
Sure, the digital might release earlier on Tuesday, but it's been awhile since my first listen of a new tune was from a physical copy so I'm planning on that.

Curious why folks are talking about Tuesday. Doesn’t everything suggest next Friday?

Singles usually come out Monday-Wednesday while albums come out on Fridays. Unless you're in the hip hop world wherein basically everything is scheduled to drop Fridays.
Plus I phoned my record store as others have and the employees have all said it's going to be on their shelves Tuesday.

When you called your record store, did you just ask for "new Panda Bear"? I called mine and they had no clue what I was talking about. I also don't live in a huge city (but also not small).

I called some in NYC but havent had any luck yet. Rough Trade told me to pre-order it to make sure they have it, which obviously isn't an option for this release.

I mentioned the "secret Panda Bear 7" and they were like "oh don't tell anyone this news came from us but ya we have 4 copies ready to go on Tuesday"

Yeah, agreed! There seems to be an extremely clearly defined aesthetic he was holding on to for a long time, which makes me even more curious and excited about how this will turn out. Tom Waits: “What’s he building in there?”

super excited for this. I feel like the phrase “sinister grift” has been sitting in my head for so many years now that it’s surreal that it’s actually going to be a thing
Personally really hoping for the two drumless Madrid songs - out in the cold and S of E i think it was called? - hoping they sound kinda like that. i thought those songs were really beautiful and are a mode of songwriting i feel like i havent heard from him in ages

I feel like Noah is typically pretty good about getting the songs he plays live out there. Aside from come and goes and bonfire of the vanities (aside from live version), I think just about every song he’s performed he recorded and released.

Do we think we'll get the full album announcement or just a new single? Can't wait either way. Feel like it's been said already but this is the most exciting stuff to come out of AC camp in a long time

i am hyped. after looking at his website this feels like we're gonna get a cool cryptic rollout and not something conventional eg- single release and announcement etc etc
really can't see that as being the album artwork as its text on a screen (highlightable) and not an image. Maybe wishful thinking as Im a bit bratted out and need a break from that color green.

it's in preakness's post on this page (and here
https://pandabearofficial.com) but also i hear you. it does sometimes feel like sharing information in a forum setting is becoming a lost art.
when there's something shared in an instagram story or something and everyone's in here talking about it as if of course we've all seen it i feel like i'm losing my mind

Someone spilled the beans on reddit lol. Was hoping it would stay a secret for the most part. Every time there is a slip up like an early ASCAP or accidental listing and someone finds it, the next release is buttoned up much tighter.

image being ascii-fied is
the javascript code is used elsewhere on the web, i was hoping the characters popping up would spell a track title but it's just copy-pasted (with attribution!)
also some more sick ascii in the page source with "Sinister Grift" in a kind of blackletter

I got the same image when using a base64 to image converter online. It kinda looks like Rivka's painting style.... maybe she did the single/album art?
Heres the SG blackletter you mentioned. I'm guessing we'll see it in action later?
Anyone know what time singles usually drop?

Typically 9-10 am CT, iirc. At least that's what I remember for the Time Skiffs singles.
