I don't know but I think it would benefit all of us more than we know.

I think it's kinda strange how people are so uptight and angry whenever there are a few posts in a row that aren't directly about the album and new songs. Like I legitimately don't see what's so annoying here. With over 3000 posts you'd expect a few detours...

that's why there's over 3000. (!) it takes a long time to read through lotsa mumbo jumbo. but sometimes, if allowed the time, the mumbo is just the jumbo that i need.

Can you imagine if he lost the master tapes, and then assembled the album from various boots and released it that way

Can you imagine if he the lost the master tapes, and then figured out how to play the entire album acoustically, re-recorded the whole thing in a day, and then release it that way.

But he'll retire because he knows Centipede Hz is the pinnacle of music and he'll never create something so magnificent again.

But dude he's being so funny! My favorite part was when he said he hopes the album gets cornpilled. Oh man, what do you think he's gonna do next?! If we ban him, we might not get to hear the "this is the worst thing I've ever heard" post when the album or EP come out... We wouldn't want that, would we? The guy is an instant classic, don't steal his thunder!! LOL

My shit, lazy, button-pushing posts are as valid as anything else in the vat of frothing nonsense that is this thread over the past few weeks. I'm really looking forward to this album from what little I've heard of the boots and from the fact he's my favourite artist of all time, and has been for about six years. Yeah, I think CHz is pretty average, and frankly poor for Animal Collective, but it doesn't affect the fact that they're my favourite musicians and songwriters ever and their next album will be my most-awaited music release. I just find it ridiculous that people respond so negatively and excessively to the slightest - and most ludicrously hyperbolic - criticism of the band, especially the blinkered oafs that have only been listening to them for half an hour. Loving a band doesn't mean blindly salivating over everything they do. That inevitably suggests critical, intellectual and emotional dishonesty.

In all honesty though, AnCo are known for debuting songs life well before the album comes out, as much as nearly two years beforehand in one case (First MPP songs were showcased in May 2007, before Jam was even released, and MPP itself didn't see the light of day until January 2009). Even if it is another 'May to the next January' wait, my body is as ready as it ever will be.

I agree, the whole "pre-album release press promoting"
tactic isn't necessary anymore for artists who have a very dedicated following and an established fan base. I think that the MBV, In Rainbows, Beyoncé "Surprise!" release is THE way to go now and is the best way to generate buzz around an album... Let's just hope Noah feels the same way and we can at least get a digital version before the end of the year...

Slasher flicks was kind of similar to this but I think we had a date then.

How dare people not make music the way we want them to! Panda Bear owes us after years and years of giving us nothing but great joy and good times. He owes us more music. Dance for us Panda Bear, dance monkey dance.

'yall need to calm down a bit.

Hey y'all just a word of advice, nobody is actually forcing you to post in this thread or anything. If there is nothing happening, maybe find one of the countless other things that exist to engage yourself with. You're only waiting if you aren't doing any other thing. Go do another thing. Even if it's just a drawing of what each song title from this album means, to you, or ranking all of the proper name songs in order of most proper to least proper (Miss Jackson, Mr Noah, Mr Grieves, etc.). If you're bored then go play.

Do you think there will be deluxe editions for this album like Tomboy?
Sonic Boom, do you have any idea if Noah was interested in doing this again?

what do you guys think the chances of Panda adding some european shows in between his August 15th show at Jabberwocky and his September 12th show in Dallas are? I will be over there from August 20th onward and am desperately hoping I can see him. I wasn't following him during the Tomboy tour to know if he did anything like adding shows during it

I think something like that would be determined by if we get some single mixes, the amount of material (if any) left over between the EP and LP, if Noah and Pete have any unfinished ideas laying around, etc.

Anyone else have ideas for reworked songs that would mesh well with Noah's recent/upcoming sets?

I'd love to see:
Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker <-----> Atiba Song
Tropic of Cancer <-----> Bonfire of the Vanities
Cosplay <------> Laughed for a World Filled With Fantasy (this juxtaposition is fantastic)
New Town Burnout <-----> Garage
