So I've never heard anyone say AnCo out loud until last night. I was at a Christmas party and we did secret Santa and I put prospect hummer (vinyl version) on my wish list and I got it (! ) and then someone there was like "oh woah, my friend is really into AnCo too". Was weird hearing AnCo out loud lol

man, avey just posted a flyer for an old show on instagram where the bill was gang gang dance, pink and brown (john dwyer's old noise band), and "black forest" which is listed as members of black dice plus avey tare and panda bear.
i feel like ive never heard of black forest before, anyone else? can't really find any record of it on google either. i guess it was probably just some improvisational group, but curious if any info exists.

Good find, Andrew.
Well, I mean it was on Instagram, so it isn't exactly obscure, but I wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't posted it, so thank you.

First post on CA, been lurking for a while. Got into AC in a big way after MPP, would consider them the band I'd choose if I could only listen to one band for the rest of my life from here on out.
Anyway... Thought you all might enjoy this. My girlfriend's been subjected to more Animal Collective than I think she realised she would be when I told her I was 'a fan'. One of my favourite AC tracks is... well, you can figure that out - she drew the below for me.

I have really been getting into Tomboy again. It is definitely one of my favorite albums. I actually like Panda's more direct, less spacey mixing of the singles. Sonic Boom's mix did make things more cohesive and is also very good, but I prefer listening to the singles because I feel like they pack more punch are definitely more pop.
Could someone PM me the singles version of the album? I think I heard a long time ago SB uploaded the singles version. I would still be interested in hearing a vinyl rip. I have purchased Tomboy on CD and bought all the singles on Itunes, so ha I'm definitely no pirate. thanks

omg yes, this video looks great. Yeah he did a solo ambient set, Avey did one too. Deak was supposed to be there but wasn't so Brian Degraw from GGD filled in instead.

Does anyone have any recording information on Oddsac? Like when or where it was recorded or who produced it? All I know is that it came out in 2010, but it's production is a total mystery to me.

This is gonna be another theory ,
But a month agonmy two friends and i did some acid ... and watched ac vids ....
I , i thinknthey too , perceived ac in a different manner ....
They purposely sneak in psychedelic references in a good majority , if not all songs .... they really do ...
Theyre sneaky mofos but thats why we love them ....
