getting in on the oddsac discussion:

i don't consider oddsac the follow up to mpp, not because it's a visual album (i think that's a weak argument) but because they'd been working on oddsac for years if i remember correctly, certainly pre-mpp and maybe even as far back as like 2005 (can someone back me up on this?). so although i'd totally group it in with all the other studio albums, it doesn't feel right to me to put it in between mpp and chz chronologically because i'm guessing a lot of that material could have been written pre-mpp for all we know

It's unarguably not the follow-up to MPP. Not even worth discussing. Let's not fight, lads, just one more night's sleep! I'm hoping that it's released when I wake up in ten hours so I can blast it on the way to work.

Yes, they've worked for 4 years on ODDSAC. But it makes me think about the "dark" atmosphere of Transverse Temporal Gyrus and Fall Be Kind, so I think it has been released at the right time. I would have loved another album with those kind of sounds.

They are archetypal portrayals of the lads we've known to be so mystifying and ever-changing.

I don't think they're exact depictions of our boys but I'm sure it's photos of each of them just highly altered to be disorienting.
