I don't want to complain because the show in of itself was incredible, but I really hated Deluxxx Fluxxx. Sort of. The sound was exceptional, but the stage is like lower than the crowd lol I couldn't see Jeremy for the entire set, and I'm six feet tall. idk

Yeah, the sound was fantastic but I'm even taller than you and I couldn't see a thing. Was Jeremy lower than Josh and Dave? I think it's unfortunately more of a DJ type venue.

St Paul baby! Awesome awesome show. Cant get enough Maestro haha. That dude's drums tho. Thanks band was tight, the venue was perfect. Met another CA'er there and had a good long chat with him which was fun. All in all, incredible time. Saw Avey and Deak and Maestro but chilling in the crowd before their set but felt too awkward to just go up and gush, oh well. Next time. Cheers

I can't confirm, but he was either sitting literally cross legged on the floor, or was lower than dave and josh.

Do you remember the setlist, I can't believe .fm hasn't updated, I woulda taken notes if I knew I needed to!

Hmm I don't recall the setlist in exact order. I know they started with HORS_ and ended with Lemonade (right??)

forgot to post earlier but the Chicago show was so amazing, venue was pretty cool intimate space. I was also a big fan of the live sound and the setup for this tour. it almost felt like a weird garage-y psych rock version of AC at times. Enjoy the Change was such a fucking jam, the end of the song got into some Nothing Ever Happened territory, so wild. Deakin's gutiar and backup vocals were an amazing addition to these songs, and in some of the slower moments when Avey and Deak were both on guitar you could hear some of the Feels guitar sound coming through, it was beautiful

I loved this version of When You Left Me. always cool when Avey brings out the dub influence to the forefront of the music and Jeremy's minimal drums were perfect, almost reminded me of the quiet parts of That It Wont Grow

Has no one asked if Jeremy will be on the next LP? I imagine he will

Impressions of Seattle show:
Good to see Deakin but he didn’t seem very into it. He kept looking at Avey in kind of an accusatory way. Can’t say I’m surprised he hasn’t been a big part of the band recently... just sensed a real negativity there. Hope I’m misreading that.

^yeah exactly looking at the other ppl performing is completely normal lol. you're def just imagining that

Deakin wasn't on Painting With but he's still super involved with the band, just look at Tangerine Reef and the Music Box Village shows from last year

After years of thinking it was "I dont want to slow you down, but you keep going by me"

Neither one has replied I bought a recorder for it and everything. Oh well

the SF show was really great! What's the Goodside, Heads Hammock, Eyes on Eyes and K.C. Yours were my big highlights!

I thought some of the new songs' live arrangements last night were genius. Others not as much. But overall, yes, a great show.

I recorded audio of Avey's full set, plus video of Eyes and K.C. I'll be away until the end of next week, so look for my links to these then.

(As for recording permssion, The Chapel in SF goes with whatever the artist's policy is, so there was no problem last night.)
