I agree to an extent, I wish they would have gone all "animal collective" on the new songs, but I really do think Jeremy was fantastic and added a lot

The bass in Floridada is just.... crazy. It's kinda unfixable. Sorry in advance for that. The audio's pretty good in the rest. They're almost all uploaded; I'll link you guys in a few

Also I'm using YouTube's video stabilization for all of them. Idk how long that will take, but it won't stop them from uploading. There's a few really shaky spots of course because I was recording it with my phone while dancing...

Unfortunately no. It was way too crowded and crazy to organize anything. I was hoping to meet someone but there wasn't really an opportunity

Got to see Abby though, she was lovely. The band did not come out afterwards. A few people stayed like waaaayy after to meet them, but I feel like they would have thought that was weird haha

About the vocals- yeah, its hard to hear them sometimes. You can tell theyre pissed about it too- Avey talked to the sound guy multiple times

Oh, update: a guy commented on my video of the new song saying that the set list said "Hounds." Didn't even know there was a physical set list. Changing the name

I love how when Avey starts singing Alvin Row you can hear people cheering saying "oh my god" "no way" "it can't be" and singing along. Truly magical. Kinda wish I hadn't spoiled it for myself. Not that it matters because I'm going to be equally excited if they play it when I see them

yess haha, i know Logan through instagram. you guys go to college together or something?? so cool.

ah the jimmy mack cover is sick! i seem to recall years of speculation over what song they would cover... besides polly and key to the kingdom. such a fun choice.

also i haven't finished the show yet, but did they talk to the crowd at any point?

Nah, we actually met at the panda bear concert in UT like 2 years ago and we've remained close friends since then!

And no, not really, outside of a few "hows everyone feeling"s

haha sweet. animal collective bringing people together. i found her when trawling through ac posts and liked her panda bear posts.

hounds of bairro is sick. love the beat at the end. and the synth sound near the end is vaguely middle eastern or something, ah yess. geo loves it too.

josh had talked about how the guys were not really moving much during their mpp tours and there wasn't much energy - now it's a little more restricted in my opinion. also felt like the painting with tracks sounded like they were playing the instrumental version of the song from something with the guys only adding small bits of synth and their vocals .
thought jeremy would have added something but doesn't seem like he got any creative freedom but also it's the first date .
BUT alvin row was a WOW . :negative:
don't mean to be negative nancy but just feel like there won't be much energy on these dates .
would love to be proved wrong . :downsrim:

Thanks Demonclusters, great job. Lying in the Grass begins sounding a fourtet/burial mix, thought there was great energy (from a vid). Looks like these songs may grow new dimensions like the evolving GR tracks over time

glad to have vids, thanks demon

that was a truly great night. its like this show is the new petaluma from the pre-chz '11 shows, except i guess we already knew most of these songs, if just barely

does seem like there was a ton of us there, shoulda had a meet up oh well. met up with pumpkinflashbacks which was cool. and i think someone did chat with avey after the show? he implied they'd normally be playing On Delay and said no chz this tour i think.

but ya this was too good, making me think im gonna cave and try and get a irving hall ticket even tho i spent too much on the one for this show...

i think i understand how awesome it must have been to be a longtime fan and see them on the 07-09 tour and hear all the crazy mpp era reworks.... like all the songs were amazing to hear, but when the loch raven sample first came in i fucking lost my shit. almost felt like a tiny dmt trip honestly. and daily routine and alvin (and dr) were just as amazing.... ugh, great show. only other time ive seen full band was in nola in '12 and they only played sj/mpp/chz songs so feels/spirit shit was so fuckin cool. dying to know what else theyll play this tour

#longpost
