Y'all are gonna realize how great this album is in ten years and then come back to this thread and cry all night you'll see.

gud 1 stanSHIT. Maybe if you go deaf or mostly deaf you'll hear those missing Hz that make the album gr8.
stanshit was a joke I just thought it'd be funny. I love your posts and style of posting and it is out of respect that I jest.

I took it to mean that he's going to listen to this record so much, because he wants to like it, that he loses his hearing.

also its pretty common knowledge that if your song names are bad it automatically makes the music bad.
That goes right up there with reading books only if they have a cool cover and that beautiful people are the best people in the world.

but yeah, i can understand criticisms people have with the album.. but the problems miss something said and some of what stan mentioned just seems kind of baseless. like, do you feel you have to say how much you dont agree with how the band made this album because you really prefer their older stuff or i think in both of your cases SJ and MPP? (i know stan loves those pre-PP boots because they really are magic) sure the live jams dont seem to go quite as far as they used to, but do you think your idea of what this album should have been is "more anco" than ancos actual execution of their own music? this record is them in a comfort zone. people can dislike it so much because they made it the way theyve always made music. i say either get with it or just ignore it. because either way, there are tons of people who like these songs very much
i like Hz, makes me feel things. but im also really excited to see what comes next from one of my favorite bands

yes. ive been trying to think of a way to say this. CHz is just more sweet AC jams, nothing more nothing less. MPP was the peak of their 2000's evolution and this sound is in a whole other universe (not saying this universe is better or worse), progression-wise.

o shit is it stanishall? its all coming back! i got banned from the old forum for calling him out hahaha
ill bite my tongue cuz blood in my mouth is better than getting banned but id rather say something that gets me banned than try to have an actual discussion with people like him and amanda jones.. "i wish more people would boo" lol thats so horrible

It's not an argument, it's expressing your thoughts on a record. I'm very surprised you got banned for anything to do with me, and especially for disagreeing with me. I'm not the kind of person who gets 'called out' because I can accept you have a different POV, even if you're therefore objectively wrong.

no i got banned for being a dick about it
but it is an argument when u say "CHz often seems messy, there's no definition to any instrument or sound because it's so fucking cluttered."
then someone else says "no its not" then u discuss it and it becomes heated when u say ben allen has a "fat fucking foot" so its by definition an argument

Oh, I can see your point but it's never actually heated, even if the language is excessive.
If it helps, rest assured that I'm just being silly.
I did try to be more analytically objective this time but then I remembered Ben's fat fucking foot and it ran away from me a lot.

Since it's release I have continuously heard in reviews that it sounds like SJ. 1. This is not a bad thing, and 2. It doesn't sound like SJ.
I have had this in my car stereo for a long time now,not always playing it, but damn Moonjock followed by Today's Supernatural just makes driving so good. I really think Pulleyes is the best track, not my favourite but musically the most well constructed.

totally. "pulleys" is amazing, lovely tribe vibes, packed with tropical heat. lovely harmonies reminiscent of "the golden age", really never understood how it got so overlooked.

I love it too. It's definitely the most unique song musically on the album.

Hearing the LP is how I fell in love with CHz! I know that seems silly but the record lends itself to the format.

I think I found the intro sample to Today's Supernatural. It's from one of the in-game advertisements in MGS4. Check out the sample thread.
