i don't feel like they'd release a demo for a charity compilation.
my bet is on one of the TS2 tracks that doesn't fit the album.

comp is cool i bought it cause i wanna support the cause and there's definitely some stuff on here im looking forward to checking out. love these charity comps cause they're great incentive
peacebone demo was cool but my favorite part of the song is those tropical synths and they aren't on here so i dont see myself listening to this a ton

I'm MPP-pilled I think. If you're together why make a demo? Just finish the song LMAO

Not enough incentive to buy, I get that it's for charity but I just don't have extra cash until I start my new job. Guess I'll wait to see if it ever releases elsewhere. I sort of hate this 24 hour model. Why not like a week or a month... Ah well

Favorite thing about the Peacebone demo is how clearly you can hear Deaks guitar part. But overall yeah not all that exciting, just feels like a less developed 06 bootleg. I think I remember an interview with Sonny DiPierri where he mentioned that FloriDada started out as a slow guitar based song... now THAT's a demo I'd love to hear.

You'd think they'd allow for at least 3 days right? I mean who apart from us nerds even knows this comp is even a thing? Ya gotta allow some time to spread the word! Also... pls gift...

yea fr something like this or the ark version of winter wonderland or hell even an early taste or something would’ve been a lot cooler. a demo of fireworks with that reverse guitar intro would’ve been sick too.

the 24 hrs is because that's how long "bandcamp friday" lasts so that bandcamp won't take a percentage of the proceeds and they will all go directly to the cause

yeah i don't really get the point of the 24 hr thing. is it a marketing tactic based on fear of missing out? i don't get it

This and also just urgency. Feel like if it was a week a lot of folks would forget about it completely.

Avey Tare and Panda Bear (and Sonic) are separate entities to the collective. I get that people are worried about release schedules but we're talking about the post-pandenic bottleneck here. We'll get all we're currently looking for in the next six months imo

^^^This totally
I think people keep forgetting theyve never been in a situation where they've ended up sitting on coinciding releases, so it's not easy to gauge the schedule at all. I think 6 months is realistic tbh

We contributed an unreleased Peacebone (Demo). We recorded this jam at our 2nd practice space on driggs ave in good ol brooklyn shortly before going to Tucson to record strawberry jam. Hope you dig it!
Makes sense that it's a demo for recording purposes, very much sounds like they're playing to outline all the parts as clearly as possible. So it's kinda the least live-sounding live take.
If we do end up getting more demos, hopefully they might share some "writing demos" from much earlier in the process. those would really be fascinating.

Even if we look at past releases, they've had different projects come out at around the same time before. There was only a month in between Buoys and Cows in Hourglass Pond
Obviously everything will come out when it's ready though

I meant even with the main releases. Thank you for the example of the solo projects, because I think they're totally not an indicator of when the band is 'allowed' to release, maybe like they won't come out the same month but a month seems timely.
Also, very glad no Skiffs songs get relegated to a compilation. Woulda been nice to see an unreleased track but I'm in the broke boat so , a demo will do for me lol.

Haha, 1 day only charity/donation model is incredibly stupid! If someone would be gracious to share the demo, I'd appreciate it.
And totally would be juiced to hear more early recordings demos from them. Somebody sometime ago used some computer trickery to mix up the steel drum in Peacebone, and my mind was blown.

You mean the reverse phased Peacebone? I find it's more interesting than the demo for sure but glad they contributed to a good cause

^^thanks for sharing this
Brown Thrasher is insanely good. i've been listening to it over and over getting lost in it and as soon as it ends I start it over. i think geo's fx generally work best over sparse instrumentation like this

alright guys i gotta get it off my chest…
not a big fan of daily routine, am i the only one? i think it’s a great song but people go apeshit for it and i think every other track on mpp is significantly better. maybe i’m just burnt out on it.
also i just noticed this, is this someone spreading their asshole? crazy man

the new Gilla Band album reminds me a lot of Strawberry Jam (he screams so much like Avey!) but this particular track is straight-up AC:

Wow I had written off that band after not knowing them much and seeing a subpar fest performance but this is fantastic. AC and Jesus Lizard influence everywhere, what a stellar combo.

This sound is so far out there I’m gonna give them a pass for this
This made me wonder when the last time a really unique and robust genre was invented

of course by "straight-up AC" I meant only the highest praise - the whole album really is astonishing and though it reminds me of a lot of old favorites that's only because it's just as wild and adventurous as those were back in the day

That one isn't it, but applaud the search. I do remember hearing it on youtube and the image was of the Beach Boys album cover. It was entirely the Beach Boys instrumental and all the vocals were Panda. There were no DJ/beat producer effects, just his vocals over the BB track.

The silver jews verse is cool i guess, still doesn't beat the World Cafe recording though, that sounds MINT (which should get added to the boots list wink wink)
