Excellent interview, thanks for sharing Opposite Field.
Its great hearing Deakin give lengthy answers since AT/PB can often be a little more reserved/shy about talking about the band. I often dream of one day reading a book written by the band and tangential people.Something similar to "All Gates Open" for Can. But not now, maybe like 20 years from now, if I'm still alive. They still got the juice to let loose. No need to slow down to reflect. Though a Crack Box Vol. 2 would be pretty nice to hear.

I saw them in Baltimore on that tour, great show. A couple of the tracks I felt didn't translate so well live (oddly enough the band version of What's the Good Side? felt kind of awkward and off to me, even though it's by far my favorite song on the album) but most of it slayed. They also did this awesome, dubby version of When You Left Me.

All signs pointing to this movie, except last stretch sounds like generic trailer music

Man not at all what I was expecting ha. That snippet sounds gorgeous though, definitely some Deak vocals in the mix. Them doing more film score work is a really cool later career turn, I dig it.
Edit: IMDB has them confirmed for the music.

question for the older heads: prior to Deakin's 2010 solo tour and then Wide Eyed, what was the general understanding of his voice as a musician/his contributions to the band? Were his songs surprising to hear after his hiatus following SJ?

Wasn't too jarring, we had the Tokyo boot of the one off show he did with Panda in 2004 and he had a good amount of vox on that, love like a sunset (phoenix remix) had his vocals on it, had a good sense he was doing the core guitar part on FRG, #1 performance on Conan his parts were more apparent bc we saw what he was doing so when he had control of the whole canvas his sensibilities made a lot sense

That's so cool that the COHP tour was just the 3 guys traveling the country without a crew. That's without a doubt one of my favorite shows I've ever been to. Truly magical experience getting Josh harmonizing with Dave on those songs and Jeremy's incredible drumming.
I coincidentally was listening to the k.c. yours ep when I was reading the interview and when the live tracks came on I was wondering who the other guys playing were and then I read that part. weird

thanks for the answer! the phoenix remix is new to me, it's good! reminds me of his niagara "hyperocean" remix that popped up a while ago

Lol, I was right behind you at this show. I remember Avey was in the crowd during the opening act, just vibing out. Tried my best to avoid looking at him because we locked eyes (on eyes) and I knew he knew I knew. Or maybe it was the acid
That's all from me

Any reason to expect the Inspection score to get released (or not)? I’d love a little Crestone-type release to tide us over, and it would seem weird to nab somebody like AC to score a film and then not release it.

was wondering the same thing, I'm assuming they will cause they did with crestone and they seem really psyched to be doing more score work.
