i think it would be absolutely shocking if domino released an album within a month of announcing it.

Yeah, so would I. Maybe the "exclusive" is an EP...that would be pretty shocking, too. I think I'd be pretty shocked at any announcement, really. Even though I'm already expecting something.

i think it's feasible that one of the domino mart "exclusive" items for black friday (or that turns up in indie stores as an exclusive) is a 7" with the new animal collective single. or with two non-album songs, ala honeycomb/gotham.

they recently had a free beat happening 7" at their brooklyn record fair to promote that release when it was announced.

I saw the facebook post -dont have instagram- and remembered this forum and that I haven't been back since I was in the hospital 1 year ago. I really hope they at least release one song soon. That would be cool.

That would be so upsetting if they don't release or announce anything else for the rest of the week!!! I really hope they don't do that to us!!! Just like what someone else said, the past few weeks have been a bitch and just a lot of shity things have been going on and it would be bitter sweet to get some new by then to help get my mind off everything thats been going on!

Since they only finished recording at the studio this fall (or at least that was what was implied), I'm doubtful that we'll see a full-fledged LP release this year. But my fingers are crossed for a single or EP to surface before the end of the month.

This is nuts: we'll have the first AC-LP to be released before the boots. I have no clue what to expect.

I'm just taking mastering + manufacturing into account, which together can take a number of months, though I have no doubt in my mind that the album is more-or-less "done".

But it's not impossible that the band might postpone a physical release and settle for a strictly digital release for 2015.

the watermarking process is intended to prevent press from being able to easily freebird an album, so usually it's only done to completely finished and mastered albums (as far as I understand). Sounds like PK probably has the finished album already

Besides the impending album and announcement of more tour dates, I can't wait for an onslaught of new interviews with the guys. I'd love to read/listen to what the creative process for the new album was like, the significance of the DJ sets, recent influences, upcoming plans, and whether we'll ever see a New Pyscho Actives Vol.2

Although I don't expect an announcement to come tonight, I wouldn't rule out geting an announcement this late. Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper was announced late at night, and so were Honeycomb/Gotham and Centipede Hz, if I remember correctly

Honeycomb/Gotham was announced at like 11 at night if I remember correctly. The centipede song title video came out at like 2 on a school day though, I remember going to the bathroom so I could listen

Looking back at the articles confirming the album's announcement, CHz was also announced at 11pm on a Sunday night (like Honeycomb), so maybe you saw it the announcement video the next day?

The Honeycomb and Centipede Hz announcements came out exactly one week apart from each other at around 11 PM Eastern time. Don't ask me how I remember any of this but I do. It's possible they could come later in the night if there's anything coming tonight

i don't see why anything is likely to happen today tho.. it was the first sort of "something is coming" teaser. i know there's been buzz and that improv session they released and stuff, but i just don't see them posting a tease and announcing anything within a couple hours right after. they probably wanna throw that out there and let it marinate and get people a little anxious waiting for that big announcement. for all we know, they'll post another similar one tomorrow. i really hope i am wrong tho of course and it ends up happening tonight or tomorrow haha.

i feel like they already did this, though, with the whole "we've finished recording our album" over the summer that generated a looooot of hype. granted, that didn't come straight from the guys themselves and for all we know they didn't even intend to make that a big announcement at the time, but what happened happened and they aren't gonna throw out /another/ teaser when they sort of already did

I don't know, it seems to me these guys aren't the type to rush things

All this Honeycomb talk has me really appreciating how beautiful that sleeve for the 45 was. Does anybody have any similarly wonderfully glorious 7" sleeves? In my (fairly large) collection, I can only think of 1 or 2 records that have equally artful sleeves.

i don't understand the trend these days of announcing an announcement.

AC are not the only ones doing it either.. I'm not complaining, it just seems kind of silly.

I honestly had given up on getting anymore type of news from they for the remainder of the year, so that hint yesterday was pretty bitter sweet. Between Instgram and Facebook it got a pretty big response from fans, which I hope the guys saw that! Again, I really hope they don't go silent on us for the next fee weeks after dropping that on us. Until then, I keep just going back and listening to live shows. .I've been obsessed with listening to different versions of "baby day" lol I love the verison from the Empty Bottle in Chicago! Its crazy that they've played there before! I've seen so many bands/ dj sets there.

I listened to Centipede Hz today, didn't do that for a while. I've loved the production absolutely, this album is so juicy! I think it never sounded this good to me. And now, finally, it's time for some new stories and games!

As we continue getting hype, hype, hype for this record, what do we have to work with? Do stuff from the DJ sets inform speculation? Avey's little Instagram videos? "Michael, Remember?"

Does anybody have a downloadable rip of the audio from that video? I really want to like, you know man, dig into that audio.

the only 'real' thing we have to work with is sonic booms post saying there are a lot of vocal tradeoffs.


if they had been talking and exchanging ideas before they met up and did michael, remember then we can assume that was a 'sound' they were going for. of course that could always change and evolve once they start playing together.

thats just speculation though, the sonic boom post is all we really have
