JM is so fun! You can tell they had an blast making it. And turning a soul/r&b song into this neo-disco-psych jam is so tight.

Shit I really dislike cover songs most of the time as they are mostly done in the same style but this reinvents a already great song into a party banger, get the Brother sport vibes and also agree that Avey vocals are amazing on this, love when he goes crazy. Almost feels like a brand new song. Eargasm certified

I'm digging this new EP, only issue I have with it is it's just too short! Goalkeeper is an amazing song but ends after 2 and a half minutes... I wish they had at least one more chorus at the end. Peacemaker is another hocketer but damn it sounds smooth, great melodies. It's weird to imagine these as "painting with" outtakes as they are such stand out tracks... more so than "gnip gnop" and "hounds of bairro" in my opinion. Also the singing style is totally different, with the exception of Peacemaker's hocketing. I wonder if they wrote these songs while writing Painting With but re recorded them more recently. Avey's vocals sound more like what they sound like on "Mountain Game"

Kinda Bonkers and Jimmy Mack are untouchable of course. I agree with whoever said there should be some Panda harmonies in the final chorus of Bonkers tho.

What did everyone else think of the EP?

innovative? you get that these are from the sessions of the already released hocketing music?

lmao "these b-sides aren't innovating enough!"

Jimmy Mack is the best thing they've released in years lol

Man, the drums and the fact that it was clearly recorded live in the studio gave it the kick of energy they needed so desperately on all of the songs from this era

one of my favorite aspects on pandas music are his melodies, so im kinda tired of this hocketing style once again... I was expecting something more like kinda bunkers than pw, but oh well....

just heard the other two tracks and they are good, Goalkeeper is amazing so much going on, do wish it was longer, kind of reminds me of centipede stuff. Peace is good as well but is a again short. This is a very respectable release.

They should keep Jeremy for the next album and Panda can play guitar/keys and Deaks can play bass/guitar.

Damn I'm actually really into Peacemaker. Kinda reminds me of Tomboy except with hocketing. I love the melody

Yeah, I think it'd be awesome if jeremy was on a full-length release. Adding deak back into the mix + jeremy on top would make for some great stuff

On first listen, I wasn't really into Peacemaker. But maybe it'll be like Hounds of Bairro and after hearing it live, the studio version will click for me.

Peacemaker might be my favorite to be honest. It's so lazily pretty. And the hocketing isn't really that extreme. It's more of a traditional back and forth. Goalkeeper is pretty great too, the chorus is so off the wall. Panda is on fire on this track.

Kinda Bonkers is a great opener. That song has the least direction in my opinion, but I think that's the point. And Jimmy Mack is sort of like a spiritual successor to Brother Sport. It's fantastic, super fun way to close it. But I think the real dense songwriting and magic are in Peacemaker and Goalkeeper.

Goalkeeper sounds more like a Rick Alvin track than anything.

Not sure how I feel about these tracks yet, but I'm certainly not disappointed.

Seems pretty hotchpotch, which is probably the point. I like the variety. Synths in Peacemaker and Goalkeeper are v nice. This is probably the dumbest thing I'll ever post here but I much preferred the titles Peacekeeper and Goalie

Maybe Noah will do hocketing until the end of his life, for every album, even his future techno album, the guest singer will have to use hocketing. It's like a lifestyle for him now

First listen.

Goalkeeper sounds like Dave opened all of Noah's zip attachments for the early demos and thought 'I can do that', only it's more interesting. Backed by the most irritating noise since the Monkey Riches squiggle. Bravo.

Haha yeah. They should've used the sound of a keeper knocking his studs against the post instead of that

Peacemaker sounds very cool, very smooth 80s, kind of Julee Cruise meets Berlin on the bassline sound, great airy pads, want to watch some very soft porn and do some beak off the tits of two permed bouffant whores each with a full bush. They are both giving me a blowie in tandem, which represents the hocketing.

Really big into Peacemaker. It has the atmosphere that I think some were missing from PW.

Not sure about Goalkeeper yet, there's just so much to digest there to form a solid opinion this early. I love how it transitions into the start of jimmy though.

Jimmy is the best AC recording for years. Pure life and life is good. Driving home, blasting it out, feel like they're riding with me. Noah just bouncing up and down in the back seat. Dave, windows down, singing his heart out. Brian operating the EQ on my tape deck. Don't mess with the L/R balance, Brian! Hahaha! Deakin is on speaker phone.

Kinda Bonkers is the most spiritual song they've done in awhile, can't get enough of it

Also I'm still hearing the Lucky 1 synth lines in the background of Jimmy Mack, anyone else notice the similarity?
