They'll open sets with Bagels in Kiev to hushed, stunned crowds

so much sj material feels ripe for a comeback in this full lounge band setup. unsolved, winter wonderland, derek, street flash, seal eyeing...a slightly loungey peacebone?
but i just had an idea about a kings-esque rendition of baby day and got excited
Seal Eyeing has suddenly jumped to my topmost song that i am hoping they might play live at some point over the next few years! very much a friendly and deep opposite of #1 which also would be very welcome for returning! !

Doggy is so good. If I ever write anything close to that good I'll die happy

another campfire songs one but listening to de soto de son i would like so much for it to be revived. the first part's melodies are just so vibrant i think it'd be a trip with a full band and removed from CS production. would make for a good dreamy opener imo a la mpp-era chocolate girl.

Turn Into Something sounds like it would slip into the new set nice and easy.

Back when Avey did songs for Folk Medicine, there was an interesting theory that they were songs they had intended to play on the cornpilled 2020 tour. Think it has legs since when announced being a part of Folk Medicine he said, "There might even be some old songs." Then it was all old songs so maybe he scrapped the idea to do any solo stuff. Hopefully it's been long enough that they'll bring 'em back anyway.

Yeah I think I was the person who brought that up and I'm really hoping it's true. If they play a full band La Rapet at these shows I will straight up leave my body.

i could def see this, or even moo rah rah rain to fit w/ the more medieval stuff?!
also hope one or two PW-era songs return for the next tour, would love to see some cool rearrangements/reworks. feels like a lot of the old songs they brought back were kept mostly intact. i want them to fuck a song up like mpp-era leaf house/rabbit

i'd really like it if they work in crimson or gotham
someone else pointed out how rare it is for them to play stuff from their solo projects as a group (comfy in nautica is the only example I can think of?) and I'd love to see more of that too
a sender would be killer with their current setup

I think there is so much they could pull out with the current set up. I know we all love crazy reworks but the rock band setup really opens things up IMO. Thinking stuff like Graze with Deak on keys, anything from Spirit with Avey playing the Roland bass parts on actual bass... kind of feeling like anything could be fair game for these shows.

Sender would be so sick. God I love that song, studio and live. Unlikely ovbs tho.
Gotham and Crimson are perfect fits... I've kinda given up on them unleashing the primordial Fireworks beast, but honestly it might not fully fit this current vibe. I think CHZ is due to get more love beyond just Pulleys tho for sure... seems like it'd be right for the spring shows. (Applesauce???). Moonjock live never seemed quite right to me, but I bet it could rock now.

maybe a longshot, but i think bat you'll fly would fit in so damn well with all the new material. the vocal interplay, the snappy tempo, the live drums, just feels like it would blend right in.
also big agree on crimson

Yeah some CHz love would do well, I could totally see Amanita, Gotham or Crimson, maybe Father Time could be cool. I'd love some PW love, maybe live debut for Goalkeeper if possible or something like Kinda Bonkers or Bagels that's a bit slower. As for older stuff I'd think Sung Tongs might be back on the table, but definitely redone, I'm not sure what exactly. I'd hope FRG or Fireworks gets brought in, Seal Eyeing or Street Flash would be absolutely amazing either though. Also wouldn't mind Fickle Cycle staying in but I kinda doubt it, too much of a fall song probably. Definitely not opposed to any Ark or earlier material, that would be sweet.

man goalkeeper would be great. that song's a lot of fun but suffers a bit from completely maximal production. would love to hear that chorus with a bit more space. I do kinda think any PW era tracks are unlikely though

Kids on Holiday is due a revival. They already played it Feels style for 15 minutes or so, let's have it Skiff style.

Didn’t they play that on latter PW shows? I’d definitely love a full band guitar version though!!

If they did bring back any PW songs I'd want a full band On Delay or Recycling, two of my faves from that era...

On delay could work with their set up really well. Breakdown would be beautiful (deakin keys?)

Hm that's true, there is that incredible glissando-ing in On Delay's climax. That would be sick... PW highlight for sure

low key think they skipped FWX last tour bc there is so much lachrymose lately why add to it, as much as it'd be nice to hear that's all there is lately

I dont totally see FWX as mournful... its got a super unique energy, its like super hype while also be fulling of longing and wistfulness, emotions AC used to do a ton, but not in a like sad-sack, mopey way. It's like a party about looking back on a party that happened a long time ago.

What I Want Sky, but this time Deak is helping out on cymbal duty for the first half, guitar and singing the sample for the second half
