So hype for Cows, had to toss off a cover of the Mayan
Here's hoping it's on the album, I just noticed there's a lyric about cows so chances seem good

About a year ago my friends from New Jersey asked me if I could meet them that night in Boston to open for them for their house show tour, and that it was happening in 5 hours. Obviously I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare a set, but this was right after the fall tour boots had dropped so I figured I could at least play the two songs I had taught myself on guitar, Defeat and Stride Right. I sent videos of those songs to my friend Peter, the drummer for the band, and said, “we won’t have time to practice any of this, but if I tell you the general structure, can you wing it?” And thankfully he was down. The result was pretty messy and chaotic but I had a hell of a lot of fun, and as the year comes to a close I’m feeling very nostalgic for playing covers sets at house parties, seeing friends from other states, and pretty much every other part of life before covid. Hope to be able to do something like this again soon

I recorded a Guys Eyes cover inspired by Panda's solo versions. I did it from memory so the structure might not be totally accurate but I had fun making it

Young Pierre - That may be the best spot on rendition of a Panda Bear song I've ever heard. You got the vocal production damn near perfect.
IkoOvo - That cover is awesome, you have a great voice my boy.
Sorry I'm essentially necroposting but I'm impressed. Good stuff.

Don't know how much these count as tossed-off (feel free to redirect me to a more suitable thread) but I've been covering a few AC/solo songs lately and I'm thinking about putting them together in a little tribute EP. Here's some of the ones that are complete or nearly complete so far:
Passerby https://vocaroo.com/1598qoeHgJqH/

I love that Passerby, not just because you went with the original melody. Cool double tracked vocals, will defo check out an EP when it comes.

Foxtrot, how in the world do you turn AC's songs into the most heart-melting, delicate and beautiful songs I've ever heard?
I just came across your Street Flash cover and it profoundly impacted me. I was stunned by its tenderness and poignant imagery and emotional quality. Wow, you've totally transformed that song for me.
I only see one other AC cover - Today's Supernatural. Have you done others? I see first page has a bunch of private vids so can't watch those.
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you. Really impacted me on a cellular level. You have a gift.

Just listening to some other covers posted on this page
Tikwid -- loved that Passerby cover. Added a real sweetness to it.
Dusty -- so sick to hear a Defeat cover that goes freaking HARD in the midsection. Stride is super fun too. Felt pretty transported into that house show, lol. Would love to show up at a house show and see someone covering fucking Animal Collective. Amazing.
IkoOvo and jetski -- such good acoustic covers, I am a sucker for all acoustic AC covers. "Essplode" especially in particular felt like a revelation hearing it as a sparse acoustic song.

Thanks so much for the kind words champions.
That was a long time ago!
So glad it has brought some joy. Absolutely loved making it. Feels good to know that it’s had an impact on you both
