Anticipates early 2025 release
Noah wanted everything to be very stripped down, guitar/bass/drums/vocals
Deak says that in a lot of ways it is raw and stripped down, but things did get warped and manipulated a bit after initial tracking.
Compares it to early rock music.

Sounds like what people wanted Buoys to be lol

Sounds like what panda was going for with tomboy even..excited to see how he portrays his musical gift this time

yeh, definitely sounds like tomboy to me. curious to hear how he differentiates it. still a long wait though.

Maaaaybe but Tomboy was still programmed drums and no bass. This sounds way more like the closest we might get to a PB rock album. Remember Noah talked about wanting to tour with a band during the Buoys press cycle.

Interesting how Noah has been obsessed with stripping things away over the years. Almost like he's been trying to get away from the maximalist excess of the late noughties AC records and the lushness of PP/TB/PBVSGR. Can't wait to hear how this came out, especially w Deakin on board. Reckon he has guided this thing more than sonically as well

True. Also feel like he's been talking for a few years about wanting to do a more traditional rock band-style setup. It's kind of like when Avey stripped down to a power trio for Slash Flicks. Maybe this will be Noah's Slasher Flicks :flail:

Noah's Slasher Flicks would be a fucking hysterical name for a band and album.

What if the album is coming early 2025, but he's now building up to an extended Tomboy style release schedule where at least half of it drips out in singles between now and then...

The clip is slowed, right? because of the 6 count I think it might be religious bop

Really loving this fuzzed out guitar sound in the Panda Bear context. Garage rock panda bear is an enticing combination.

Speaking of Panda twitter, I've been playing that acoustic version of Genie's open again, also the snippets we got from his sp303, so good
