über in FROM*, a place where I could park my car. Like legitimately asking just in case... can't find answer on google. If I cant formulate a solid plan without spending like 50 extra USD just to like park and get inside then um maybe I gotta sadly pass on principle. ill stop bitching about it sorry lol

O ok so once u get the shuttle ticket for 30 you can park for free where the shuttle is. That makes sense and makes it easy more reasonable
.
Yeah I'll probably just go. Probably spent fuckin a combined grand on this band this year jesus

i’ve seen them 6-7 times and that was literally the best one yet — houston usually has shitty crowds and shows but god damn AC ripped it up tonight — no defeat or magicians so we got so many other songs it was great —reverend green closer is out of this world

I concur, they killed it in Houston last night. Glad they left out defeat and Magicians, since I heard them both in Chicago. Loved what they did with Wide Eyed! Was never a big fan before, but it’s like they cracked the code on it.
The crowd was fairly shit though…

Yeah Reverend Green was such a sweet closer. Chores was a really nice surprise too. That Sea of Light was pretty nuts eh?

had a great time at the CO shows, so glad to have been able to make it to both
think they played everything in the current rotation across both nights except soul capturer and stride rite? but I may be missing something off the top of my head
highlights for me were magicians, genies, both chz tracks, both oddsac tracks (unreal), the car keys jams, and defeat ofc—all transcendent in their own ways

^hell yeah, both CO shows were stellar. I think you're right that all we didn't get out of the current song pool were Soul Capturer and Stride Rite but also interestingly Prester John. I've seen them 3x this year and still no Prester John! I've only seen The Path OG version still.
Maybe because they didn't play Defeat tonight in Denver they got to some songs I hadn't heard last night OR months ago in Nashville like Passer-by and Broke Zodiac. We Go Back last night was also a treat... think I've heard most of Skiffs 1 live now. And are they doing Walker at all this tour leg? Haven't seen that yet. Working and Screens are wild man, so sick we get 2 ODDSAC songs in one tour. Hope they keep mining it in the future.
general thoughts on Ogden, and sorta comparing to the Mishawaka:
-it was mixed too loud. If only a little. Sometimes it was to a sick effect but I think towards the end it did wear on me slightly. Not bad tho, might be a venue thing, but I think the band in general usually goes for a maxed out sound. I think Deak and Geo could have like been mixed more cleanly but whatev.
-R&D is way more rocking that I expected and it used to be. Really gets goin
-I can't decide if I like Genie's Open or Magicians better. I think I clearly enjoyed Genies Open more than 99% of the crowd but good lord that song is so fucking wild. Love it so much, Sea of Light <3!!!!
-Cherokee, WGB and Passerby are the best live songs of Skiffs 1? Sorry Car Keys and Dragon Slayer. They're amazing too but ya...
-Broke Zodiac is incredible... fucking reggae af when they get into that one.
-Bluish blows my mind. I never imagined that could be a huge MPP oldie but it makes so much sense.
-Chores is the most aggro song of the setlist, its incredible, they could probably make the end part even prettier lol.
-Ive gone thru being sick of In the Flowers to truly appreciating its function in the setlist. Lets be real, 99% of the crowd skews towards people with limited exposure like maybe JUST MPP/My Girls/Doin it Right type shit and I have no idea what these peoples' take-away would be or if they would like even half the show, but at least they get that ItF drop ykno? Its not My Girls but good lord.
anyway loved it. Tripping in Kansas in 2 nights I need 2 recover <3

I agree with the majority of this! These 2 CO shows are my first and only ones on this tour, and I hadn't listened to any boots, so this might be a bit of a more fresh perspective.
The sound was better at the Mish, and it also felt like a completely different show, energy-wise, even if they shared a lot of the same songs. The Mish felt a lot more ambient, droney, psychedelic, and the crowd was quite a bit more subdued (at least up front). The new songs particularly shined at the Mish. I highly recommend visiting that venue if you haven't already - absolutely gorgeous place to see music.
The Ogden was a rager, 2 (TWO!) Oddsac tunes and put all the current tour bangers on display. Strung was by far the biggest surprise for me both nights. Just super super fun. I thought Cherokee was probably my least favorite live too, which was also a bit of a surprise. Really would have loved to hear Walker or Prester John of course, but I'm not complaining.
The Ogden felt like such a Strawberry Jam-era show, plus WOW applesauce! That version will definitely sit with me. Didn't even recognize it until I heard the lyrics.
Working (holy crap) really made me want Tantrum Barb (c'mon guys, you know you wanna), and Rev Green (with the green lights! thx Abby) were both spectacular. R&D was a dream. I think this is my favorite band set-up, sound, and song selection overall that I've seen from the boys. Hurdy Gurdy and Avey bass for lyfe.

I think this is the first time since I've been a fan that I've felt like most of the songs are 10/10. That Ogden setlist is a rager. We have truly come a long way from the Painting With days

^ya man I love this era and set of songs. Every night still kinda gets its own unique flavor... and I LOVE PW and pw era live esp but yeah I gotta say... I guess I'd take a live Skiffs deep-cut over a PW deep-cut MOST days... I mean don't get me wrong, a few PW songs like Golden Gal, On Delay or something random I love like Spilling Guts would be sick... but yeah on this tour the only song I might get a BIT bored on is R&D or Wide Eyed cuz I just always thought they were only ok (more Stride Rite!)
I will also say tho compared to PW tour I think people are moving/dancing way less, which is lame but I'm used to it. Last night it occurred to me that I wonder if some of the motivation for PW's live dance party vibe was a response to coming off CHZ tours where people might have also only really danced for like Bro Sport and Peacebone or sumn since that also had more of a "rock band" approach like Skiffs era does.
and dance-party mode is still sick and that still kinda happens on Flowers and Genie's and they're always at least grooving but the instrumental aspect of current setup feels more engaging to chill with. Lots goin on instrumentally and panda's drumming is always sick

Unsolved Mysteries has been fun but has felt like the weak link of the tour to me. Something kind of flat about this treatment in the verses. Feels less technicolor carnival and more like a tired jam band's version of Beatles magical mystery tour (Again, only on the verses, the chorus pops). I love the song (see my signature) but please i would like to see it go so that finally we can hear Rain in Cups live

^funny when Unsolved live started up last year I was kinda non plussed by it, and in terms of the oldies I probably look forward to most things more, but in CO both night I loved Unsolved, esp the chorus... But I feel like I felt how you did last year. Love the "jaaaaaack the ripper......"

So I was at Mishawaka and Ogden and I took a phone recording of the Ogden show which I will share soon, but the people in front of me were talking so loud the whole time so I don’t know if it’s a good recording. I hope someone else has a better one and I really hope someone has a recording of the Mishawaka!

I have recording of Ogden and mish that are honestly decentish.phone recordings except each is like 80% of the show and not the whole thing cuz I'm a dummy
Can still share tho if it comes to that. I will also try to get a full recording of Kansas tonight

Ya recorded all of Kansas, if anyone is an open minded sound guy who wants to like see if they can clean it up or make it less shitty lmk, the sound tonight was pretty great... The Kansas crowd might have seemed a little noisy towards middle but by the end they actually just seemed like a really energetic crowd, maybe more than co
I know I'm mixing up the order towards middle but I got (will confirm later):
Wide eyed
Chores
Car Keys
Dragon Slayer
Cherokee
Working
Passerby
Unsolved
Genies
Strung W/
Defeat
Applesauce
Soul Captor
Dancer
Purple bottle

I was at Kansas City last night too, and despite the venue being my least fav in town the boys absolutely crushed it. A big highlight of the setlist was Strung w everything, mostly due to the HUGE wave of energy that was at the end (I was personally going feral) and Dave doing a rare post-song pause to say "That was great. I could really feel the energy with that one
"
I've had a ton of pent up rage the last few months and screaming that song live was very healing for me. Also--- WIDE eyes slow jam?? that was a v delicious intro
^^ btw @dio if you wanna drop a link to that recording I would love to relisten to that moment later.

Hey yeah I can upload it in next couple days... Only listened back a bit and some seems decent whereas some that was louder like Chores might be way too bassy to translate at all...
