Ok so a friend who lives near a studio in Brooklyn said he heard they have 16 days booked. Assuming they are there right now but that was all the details he got.

Danse is the last thing I can find confirmed but I have to imagine Ark was also recorded in NY, can't find anything that mentions where it was done though.

AC recording TS2 back in New York feels really special... coming back to one of their genesis places for their Legendary Work

Currently trying to figure out which studio they could be working out of. Rare Book Room no longer exists IIRC. Maybe they are recording with the person who mastered Time Skiffs? Pretty sure she just built a new studio in BK. Anyone got any leads on this?

i don't think they'd record at her studio though...from what i've seen it's pretty small and doesn't seem like the kind of vibe AC would record at, more just the place they'd hang when she's mastering their record

i wonder if they're recording at the bunker. deakin follows them on instagram and likes a lot of their posts. they seem to have a sweet vintage & analog vibe that i think might lend itself well to this era of jams. but who knows.

anyone see Get Back? that part where the two fans just loiter outside the recording studio and wait for any glimpse of the beatles coming and going... what i wouldn't give to loiter outside the Bunker for the next two weeks just waiting for glimpses of the Magic Men...not saying a word to them, just silently appreciating the fact i'm being present with them in the moment they're making their next masterpiece... ahh man it gives me shivers just thinking about it

Very true. Maybe the short, 2 week session will give things a really lively, unfussy vibe too. Smash them out quickly. Get those live band in a room, warm analog vibes while they're freshly cooked!

Then Noah can go and quarantine for a couple of weeks in a hotel.
Record some solo stuff while he's in there!

i wouldn't be surprised if this were just the first of a few sessions. i know the songs are already fully formed but things can change in the studio

two weeks isn't too short all things considered. for a proficient band like ac (i think mpp was recorded in a short stretch), knocking down a handful of songs would probably be relatively painless--especially considering that they've had some of these songs for at least three years.

everyone remember what life is like for you rn because this is the moment they are capturing these new tracks !

i would love for them to use an old-school approach for TS2 .... two weeks to record to tape, capture the live energy, and then hand it straight over to the folks to get it mixed/mastered and call it a day. no fuss.

they know these songs so well...i'm sure they can record these live off the floor and nail them all without much trouble. so much shared energy and magic will be captured if they employ this kind of tactic... sure i want them to do overdubs and jazz the songs up...but if the base layer is all live -- man, that would be sick

something does tell me that we are gonna be getting these done now. I mean-- recording these songs in BK in this time of year? Anyone who's been here this time knows the magic in the air, what with every block being decorated to the nines, it's a literal sea of light-- the perfect setting for these behemoths. We've even had a light spattering of some non-sticking snow!

i went to new york for the first time to see AC play Sung Tongs at Pitchfork's party, and i found it absolutely magical...that was December 2nd, almost 4 years ago now....amazing atmosphere that time of year for sure

Agreed. Please no following to locations. I get the temptation to be around them when they're doing their thing but this sort of behaviour might turn them off from engaging with the fan base in the future which would suck for everyone (on top of potentially making them uncomfortable). Not trying to throw shade or anything, just my 2 cents.

Ah yeah, kind of why I didn't want to drop the actual location but I figured it would come out eventually when someone mentioned the name. Be patient everyone, I'd guess they're doing some Skiffs press stuff while they're in the city too so we'll be getting some more info soon enough.

i heard from a source that dio was camping out just outside some studio, i went by to take a look. he was wearing overalls and a beret and kept yelling something about "the feet" to random passerbys? i will not be going back to the studio.
